If you’ve never attended CritWitchCon, here’s what to expect:
3 days of live (& occasionally recorded) virtual content presented from a wide variety of perspectives, centering around secular, nontheistic, agnostic, atheist, skeptical, analytical, and science-minded witchcraft.
We're talking at length this year about the importance of rest in trying times, ways to incorporate fallowness into the cycles of our practices, disconnecting productivity from worth, and straying off the path to find meaning in the messy, unstructured places outside of the lines.
In 2026 our overarching theme for CritWitchCon is "Fallow and Feral: Active Paths of Rest."
Witches assemble! ✨ The Critical Thinking Witch Collective organizing team has been hard at work behind the cauldrons, and we are thrilled to announce our theme for CRITWITCHCON2026!
Our name has changed, but our mission remains the same: to bring together a community of critical thinking witches and seekers who respect reason, logic, and science as we also acknowledge the genuine beauty and meaning in the mysterious. And we plan to have fun while we do it ✨🧙 🖤
Welcome to the Critical Thinking Witch Collective! Formed in 2021, we came together to make a space for critical thinking witches; witches who research, who apply scientific reasoning, who learn from history, and who question assumptions and biases ✨🧙 🖤
Details are in development, but you can learn more about us at www.criticalthinkingwitches.com ✨🧙 🖤
We'll be opening applications for main speakers, mini presenters, panelists, & workshop hosts in a few weeks! ✨🧙 🖤

Announcing CRITWITCHCON2026! September 4-6, 2026 ✨🧙 🖤
How do *you* mark the change of the season in your practice? What does spring - or autumn - look like where you are? CTWC members are scattered all around the world, & we'd love to hear from you! 🌱🌞🔥
Then I lit a charcoal disc & burned a mixture of mugwort, bay, frankincense resin, & a Loving Kindness loose incense made by a friend. Sitting in the sun, wreathed in smoke, sipping a brew & listening to the birds was just the pause I needed before the chaos of spring growth launches into action 🌱🌞🔥
For the onset of spring, I went around the garden & collected little bits from the green, growing, bitter-tonic plants, and picked a few of the early flowers: yarrow, hardy geranium, speedwell, dead nettle, columbine, wild garlic, forsythia, and a tiny daffodil.
I am always looking for an excuse to burn a little something as part of my practice, and I frequently set what I call magpie spells on days that feel important to acknowledge.
Hayley Jay here, with a very important announcement: It's finally spring here in the northern hemisphere, witches! 🌱🌞🔥
