I forgot to login here for 12-months, but I also haven't done a lot of social media the last year, I mean I'm still there doom scrolling, just rarely posting outside of instagram stories to a locked down profile

@birmo.bsky.social I have a question for you, at our work Xmas drinks tonight someone raised that the bucket bong was invented in Brisbane, but I believe that is from your book Dopeland, any truth to this? Did you do any research to find out origins? So keen to hear this is real

- Yes, you can still achieve some measure of reach / influence on X, even if it is exaggerated using dodgy stats

- The question you have to ask is how important that reach is to you. Do you want to support what is comfortably now a right-wing, white nationalist platform by giving it content?

Do you know how to tell male from female? I have this pal who visits often, has visited me since early in the pandemic and has a damaged wing but still can fly, gets bullied by all the other birds though 😥

Have you ever seen an Ibis baby? Today I was thinking about how I had never seen a young one. Do they just come fully grown bin chickens? @firstdogonthemoon.bsky.social maybe you can answer this…

When anti-AI art discourse becomes indistinguishable from anti-conceptual art discourse, I get concerned. Some great art actually doesn’t require much labor at all, and that’s good. Art is not about earning merit badges for effort.

I’ve been working on upscaling the Queensland architecture in miniature book nook to a street library scale for some school holiday workshops, each family get a laser cut flat pack to paint and assemble. It’s been super fun and I’m looking forward to seeing their versions

The entire internet feels like a dead mall. It's just full of old people and wine moms and unemployed fascists and stores trying to sell you junk but sometimes your friends are there so you keep showing up

NFTs are just a digital contact not the art, it’s like criticising mp3 as a format. Weird way to insult a bunch of artists, but yeah crypto bros have destroyed the ability for anyone to have a critical conversation about the topic

I made a lamp meme reference today during a workshop and not one person knew what I was talking about. I live online way too much

Accessibility is one of the biggest open problems in XR, & I've just posted an epic, 15-part, 8-hour Voices of VR series that serves as a crash course on the topic recorded at XR Access Symposium.
