About half of the group was clergy or spiritual directors or some other "professional" Christian. About half were lay people.
I commend it if you can go. More info here. www.ignatiushouse.org/calendar/202...

The group was racially diverse. And about 1/3 were not catholic. Most were not local to the ATL area, but some like me were.
It was a silent retreat, but there was worship with gospel singing. An optional hour debrief a day & individual meeting with a spiritual director.
Last year I went on a silent retreat at Ignatius House just outside of Atlanta.
It was facilitated by the Jesuit Antiracist Sodality. There is another one coming up June 14-21 - The God of All of Us: Praying with Black Spirituality.
It was the best retreat I have done.

After I read the biography, I picked up Little Man, Little Man, originally written in the mid 70s. It was described as a children's book for adults.
I think it is mostly historical curiosity. But I was very much glad to get another part of Baldwin that I didn't know about.
I had no idea that Baldwin had written a children's book. It was in part getting that book back in print and the interviews that Boggs had with the illustrator and his family that eventually lead Boggs to write the new biography.
I very much appreciated Nicholas Boggs' recent biography of James Baldwin. It was well worth reading and part of what Boggs spent time on was the children's book that Baldwin wrote and the relationship that Baldwin had with the illustrator.

I am at my son’s soccer game. I spray him with sunscreen and a nearby player (10 probably) says “ah I love the smell of sunscreen in the morning”.
And I wonder about culture transmission.
Cause it makes sense in context. And it is a good way from Apocalypse Now.

This is much more of a problem than changing passwords and ordering a new credit card.
Cleaning my email will take forever.
There was an attempt to get into my amazon account again.
As part of the attack (this has happened multiple times in the past) I have been subscribed to hundreds of email subscriptions (mostly non-english).
I would love to read a good post from an art historian about why the art that Trump posts of himself seems to be so influenced by mormon artists.
