Unfortunately, I had to stop reading the news, or timeboxing it, as it has been so terrible lately.

would love a thread about this. I assume envoy was involved but would love to hear your perspective.

You set a bunch of parameters and input data (model files, light positions and settings, shader files/code, point files for environments, etc., etc.) and send it off (in my line of work, it was sending it off to a render farm) and come back the next day and see what happened.

Working with agents reminds me of working with 3D renders.

Dual moguls is my new favorite Olympic sport, other than ski mountaineering. Fast, chaotic and super fun to watch.

Where sense can you see shit like this?

Also congrats Canada for your first gold!!! And in mogul Olympics!!

Changelog 0007: Branches. So you can imbue any git repo that contains `.md` files with Google-Docs-like collaboration features, instantly, by adding a `moment.yml` file to it. But git repos have branches. So this week we decided to support them too. 🧵

I live in a very special place. Got to squeeze in a tour after all that Thanksgiving turkey.

I just convinced my whole team to use jujitsu. With some community tools, we no longer stomp over changes when working on the same feature branch. No more confusing rebasing either!

Again this is how we did it and I’m sure there are better ways. But this works for us in terms of correctness (and ensuring no data is lost on conflict), performance and operations.

Tiptap works great for single player or if you don’t expect to have a lot of conflicts. It’s the only solution out there if you want comments out of the box as well.

We do expect to have conflicts and have many people to touch Moment docs, so this is the solution we went with that works for us.

GitHub - nytimes/react-prosemirror: A library for safely integrating ProseMirror and React. A library for safely integrating ProseMirror and React. - nytimes/react-prosemirror

We use github.com/nytimes/reac... for our render layer vs tiptap as we think working prosemirror transitions gave us better correctness and performance.

Reboot | Reactive Backends, Durable MCP Reboot is a React's bullet-proof backend. With Reboot, you build reactive backends out of durable data structures that safely compose into scalable distributed systems.

We did start with durable objects but ended up partnering with reboot.dev and been satisfied. Performance is great and reboot clients handles the reactivity and idempotency for us.

We ended up building a centralized stateful service that optimistically writes with a transaction log. Thats it. Nothing algorithmically fancy. Boring systems stuff.

We evaluated a lot of frameworks (this was back 2-3 years ago so keep that in mind). As you can tell from our blog, yjs did not cut it for us.

I came back from Sync Conf and shocked how many people are building text editors and the struggles they had with yjs.

So rather than wait for my cofounder to finish his blog, I’ll just give a quick rundown on what we do for live collab editing.

They have the lowest profile and great sound cancelling. I sleep with them every night and shocked how comfortable they are. My friend recommended to me after thorough research and I’m now spreading the good word.

I’m so in love Taylor’s new album. Melodic hooks, witty lyrics, and sexually mature.

So far, Elizabeth Taylor and Actually Romantic is what I’m jamming to right now.
