Dunked on this yesterday but in reality the first order of business needs to be punishment. I'm not kidding. We can't start fixing anything until we punish, and punish hard, the people who put us here. That needs to be done to send a message. And if we don't punish, nothing else will matter.

To be fair to Karen, her idea isn’t any dumber than what the ADN editorial board farted out last weekend:

Fairbanks energy expert Gwen Holdmann explains why Fairbanks residents pay some of the highest electric rates in Alaska, in a commentary for the @alaskabeacon.com alaskabeacon.com/2026/04/16/w...
Everyone is posting about the glory of the Maui Invitational, but we need to bring back the Great Alaska Shootout. Sad to think that a tournament whose greatest legacy is a young Sarah Palin hooking up with Michigan legend Glen Rice has been lost to history.
Frank Stagno and his airboat in 1980s Fairbanks. In 1985, friends bet him $200 that he couldn't drive his airboat on land to the Lonely Lady strip club on Airport Way. He almost made it but melted the boat bottom off and got a drunk driving charge. #alaskahistory #alaska
Most organizations should be developing governance policies for AI just like they do for cybersecurity. Defining how and why the organization should use AI, what tools are authorized, what data can be accessed, etc.
That second group has been the root of our problems for a very long time.
We must lift the US oil blockade on Cuba.
This is economic warfare designed to suffocate an island.
Food is spoiling.
Water supply is compromised.
Healthcare services are disrupted.
End the blockade now. Grateful to all those helping deliver humanitarian aid!
A graphic reads “92% of participating ProPublica Guild members voted YES to authorize our bargaining committee to call for a strike.” The “92%” is very large. A ProPublica Guild logo is under the text.
1/ Today, we overwhelmingly voted to authorize a STRIKE as we fight for a fair contract with @propublica.org.
Almost every post is a complaint about some state of affairs, then some variation on “someone should do something”. Not one single idea about what should be done.
Senators have a lot of power, would be cool to know what she’d like to do with it.

…but it’s not going to happen with this kind of weak sauce campaigning.
I get that they’re desperate not to offend moderate Republicans, but you need to give people reasons for enthusiasm and there’s absolutely nothing.
If this is their strategy Dan Sullivan is getting 6 more years.
The only policy proposal I could find was a vague reference to “term limits”.
The only Alaskans mentioned by name other than her husband are Ted Stevens and Don Young.
This is the best opportunity to flip an AK Senate seat since 2008 and we desperately need to do it…
I would take this further to say that Mary Peltola needs to talk about her positions on literally anything.
Her campaign website is full of lofty talk about taking on the DC establishment and “Fish, Family, Freedom”, but gives almost no indication of what she would do if elected.
Is Mary Peltola even campaigning? I can’t find evidence of her speaking publicly about anything since she launched her campaign.
It’s a big part of Dan’s campaigning too. He never shuts up about all the money he gets us.
This is some Great Depression-ass advice
Is he still the leading Democrat?
And here's the Purchased vs. Inherited breakdown that was popular when I tweeted it in 2024.
5 of the bottom 6 teams, and 8 of the bottom 9, were inherited.
7 out of the top 11 were purchased.
Yeah it’s a pain in the ass
At Fred Meyer (Kroger) you have to play the e-coupon game to get good prices. I always wait until after I scan all my items to enter my account number and it routinely knocks 20-30% off the bill.

Dozens of FBI witness interviews from the investigation of Jeffrey Epstein appear to be missing from the files released by the Department of Justice last month, according to a CNN review – including interviews related to a woman who accused President Trump of sexually assaulting her decades ago.
In Anchorage we have snow dumps that don’t melt until August.
Photo of AK lawmaker aid who has been charged with sex trafficking. Screenshot is from Anchorage Daily News which reports he was fired today.
He was fired today.
Still wrapping my head around this timeline:
October 2025: There is an allegation of child exploitation.
Since November 2025: He has been working as a legislative aide
And it’s not till February 20, 2026 that an arrest is made?!?
…on the outlet box, touching both pieces of lead. He got a pretty good jolt and let out a scream. The class erupted, but he was fine, and the student had to have a conversation with the vice principal.
Dr. Laursen was my Biology teacher at West Valley.
Our classroom had benches instead of desks, with electrical outlets on top spaced every couple feet. One day a student stuck a piece of pencil lead in each side of an outlet. Dr. Laursen was walking around lecturing and placed his hand…
