Our Constitution guarantees freedom of religion and separation of church and state. For a U.S. President to threaten the head of the Church because he preaches a message of peace is ethically, morally and constitutionally wrong. At what point will my colleagues say enough is enough?

As a Roman Catholic, I found the President’s unhinged attack on Pope Leo XIV abhorrent. This came after Good Friday services were cancelled by Pete Hegseth and a high level Pentagon official made a veiled threat of using military force to replace the leader of the Catholic Church.

Whether someone is a Democrat, a Republican or the President of the United States, if they sexually assault someone they will be held accountable. End of story.

It’s important that Congress shows up to try and do our jobs because we can’t rely on Mike Johnson.

I will continue to show up and speak out against this immoral war.

With everything going on in the world and in this country, we should be at work. I'm on my way to DC because the American people deserve representation. Speaker Johnson, why are you afraid to bring us back to do our jobs??

It was great to join Superintendent Corden and UCC President Pokrandt for a tour of Umpqua Community College’s new Medical Careers Hub and Welcome Center.

These investments will strengthen healthcare education and help set students up for success.

Iran war live: Trump announces two-week ceasefire as Iran says talks to begin Trump said the U.S. has received a 10-point proposal from Iran, and "believe it is a workable basis on which to negotiate."

First, I’m relieved that we have a two-week ceasefire with the Strait opened. That is positive. However, we need permanent peace and not a President buying time till he takes another motion to declare war or threaten genocide. We need the War Powers Act and to invoke the 25th Amendment now.

Invoke the 25th Amendment. The President is threatening genocide and acting in a completely unhinged manner. This cannot be normalized.

The President is too unstable to serve. The 25th Amendment needs to be invoked to stop the President from doing further damage to the safety and security of the US and the world.

We should be called back to DC now to vote on the War Power's Resolution to stop the war.

3/ Instead of putting the needs of Americans first, the President is fueling a reckless war and putting our kids in danger. Your kids are filling the boots. Not his.

2/ The White House is asking for $1.5 trillion in defense spending next year. It’s crazy to fund an agency that has failed 8 audits in a row and shovels money to private contractors who don’t treat their workers well.

1/ The Administration would rather send your kids to war than lower costs🧵⬇️

Pam Bondi’s firing is long overdue.

Rapists and those who defend them are not above the law, no matter their party or power.

For the sake of every victim, we will fight to hold her accountable.

It’s been one year since President Trump put his “Liberation Day” tariffs in place and his wild trade policy has hurt Americans and skyrocketed costs.

Congress needs to take back its constitutionally directed power as an equal branch of government to 'regulate commerce with foreign nations.'

Trump signs order limiting mail-in voting The order directs the Postal Service to only send mail-in ballots to an approved list of voters.

This is an unconstitutional attack on our election security by an administration who can’t win any other way.

Oregon has been voting by mail for over 30 years with the support of Democrats AND Republicans, expanding access to the ballot. The Constitution is clear: states decide the time, place and manner of elections.

Live Updates: Supreme Court Hears Landmark Challenge to Birthright Citizenship

Today the Supreme Court hears arguments for a case against birthright citizenship.

We must defend the 14th Amendment. If you are born in the United States, you are a citizen. No President can rewrite the Constitution. This shouldn’t even be a question.

I testified to urge the VA to provide the matching funding to build the Roseburg State Veterans Home.

Oregon has done its part and the veterans who served our country have definitely done their part. Now it’s time for Congress to do its part and deliver.

Instead of compromising and understanding that they are here to do the work of the American people, House Republicans put forward a bill that won’t pass the Senate. Now they’re going to point fingers while federal workers aren’t getting paid.

We should focus on the best interest of the American people but Speaker Johnson won’t bring that bill to the floor. It’s time to do our job and vote to pay these workers.

The Senate UNANIMOUSLY passed a bill to fund DHS other than for ICE and CBP. If the House puts forward anything other than the Senate bill, federal workers won’t get paid.

Salinas, Hoyle Lead Ten Colleagues in Demanding Trump Administration to Mobilize all Options to Prepare for Upcoming Wildfire Season Today, U.S. Congresswoman Andrea Salinas (OR-06) and Congresswoman Val Hoyle (OR-04) led ten of their colleagues from Oregon and Washington in a letter to the U.S. Department of the Interior Secretary...

This year’s historically warm winter in the Pacific Northwest means less snowfall, worse drought conditions, and an increased wildfire risk.

@repvalhoyle.bsky.social and I led a letter to the Trump Administration, which should be doing more to prepare instead of cutting staff and funding.

2/ This is not the time to leave such important work undone.

I am ready to fund DHS minus ICE and CBP. We should stay in DC and do our damn jobs until that is done. But Speaker Mike Johnson would rather point fingers than lead.
