At the end of the day just because some things feel "inevitable" in competitive spaces doesn't mean we shouldn't still at least try to make improvements to them when we can.

Do you think people behave better in sports than they do in gaming? I was just thinking that a lot of the rudeness and elitism from gaming spaces comes from a supposed competition, that trash talking is part of the "fun," but I don't know enough about sports to know if the same thing happens there.
I was surprised it let me put in a naughty word as one of the custom phrases, but then didn't realize the cost. Apparently the reason you can't share stuff is because the game has no censorship and you can draw whatever you want.
I'm so sad you can't easily share photos/video of Tomodachi Life. I felt like that was one of the most fun things about the 3DS version :( Also I can't share Miis I made
I've been doing this wrong this whole time, because I exclusively have good and correct takes.
I heard on a podcast today that the secret to going viral is just to have a bad take that inspires other people to have bad takes about and I think about it now every time I have the impulse to respond to someone.
joey...
Man, now I can play my Game Boy games on a tiny, black and white, portable screen. If you had told me I'd be doing this 30 years ago. I never would have believed you.
I was so excited about Tomodachi Life coming out but tbh I'm still so deep in my Pokopia obsession I don't know if I can make time for it yet
I find it more approachable than the wider meta because of the limited Pokemon pool and not worrying about some mechanics, but tbh I was always bad at competitive
I'm fortunate my local bookstore is Powells Used Books
I bet there are a lot of cute small grocery stores in Tokyo, I envy
I really had perfectionism creep up in my life a lot more as I got older and I've had to re-evaluate when I'm preoccupied with something being the perfect decision vs just a good enough decision in a sea of decisions I'm always making.
I have reverted back to using cookbooks and shopping in stores and it has been interesting. I really like having technology make so much information available, but I feel much better about my decisions when I have more limited input. I'm shifting from "is it the perfect choice" to "this seems good."

Happy 20 years of Neil banging out the tunes ππΆπ
Mr. Mime has Gather in Pokopia and whenever I see him picking up materials and taking them to the community box or putting stuff in my furnace I want to cry because he's just such a good helpful lil guy
I love everyone using Meganium now. And Politoed. My favs are getting their day in the su- er rain
I guess the silver lining is if that person from 2015 can figure out life and how to be a human, anybody can.
I had to rewatch an old video I made in 2015 for something unrelated to YouTube and oh my god. I know you are supposed to cringe at your past self because it is a sign of growth but it is a different kind of pain to know that this moment was also the time in my life when I had the most eyes on me.
Its not visible at this angle, I also moved the bridge from the Wasteland gate over a little so it wasn't blocking the view of my condos
yup lol
2 Japanese style buildings overlook a river near the Pokemon Center in Rocky Road in Pokopia.
The same 2 buildings are visible from another angle, with a 3rd similar building visible in the back. A wooden bridge over the river can be seen.
Next is my Rocky Road. This one I just started today so there isn't much to see here yet. I plan to make this an onsen town.
The main island in Bleak Beach in Pokopia transformed into a grassy resort with a large diamond shaped pool, cabanas, lots of palm trees, and a big wooden stage area with seats in front.
The hillside of Bleak Beach has been turned into a residential village. The houses are made of pastel colored plaster, there are 8 buildings with brick roofs. The stone bridge arches have been repurposed to make arched entry way.
A work in progress amusement park is on a reclaimed area of land in Bleak Beach. There's a red arcade building, and behind it a small roller coaster made of railroad tracks and colored enclosure supports.
Next is my Bleak Beach. This was my first area I did after unlocking Magnemite. There's a big resort area, I only took a picture of it from one angle but there are 4 large buildings here not pictured.
My little neighborhood of homes for my Pokemon in the Wasteland in Pokopia, taken using the Magnet Rise ability. There are 8 or 9 homes visible, each with different materials and rooflines.
A large village inn in the Wasteland in Pokopia, with a large hotel structure in the middle, a restaurant on the right side and a small storage area on the left. Most of the valley has been turned into a lawn with picnic tables and the lake has been expanded.
The area with the windmills in the Wasteland has a large brick mansion, a Chansey topiary, a greenhouse and a field of veggies.
Here is a little thread of my Pokopia progress (hours: 190). First is my Wasteland. I built most of what's here before unlocking Magnemite, I haven't ever really gotten into builder games before outside of The Sims so I had to learn as I went.
this is beautiful π the giant fat pika
Fire is good against grass, and weak against water. Good, you're really getting the hang of that! Now that you've mastered that, it's time for EV distribution, speed management and Choice Scarf!
I think Earls Pokemon Academy was fine. Look stuff up if you need more info but the game assumes you've played Pokemon before. And has mini games for the people who need type advantage explained to them.
It is absolutely insane that Champions begins with a tutorial explaining type advantage. Like... you're not going to really enjoy this game if you need that explained to you.
I would hate to be that other person
