ooh awesome! Some unsolicited advice (because I wish I had gotten this), but be careful when doing subdiv modeling.
The closer your low poly cage matches the intended shape you want to make before subdividing, the better. Way less artifacts.

I keep just saying it out loud, it's like a stim at this point it makes me smile
Yeah I got some low res stuff I wanna post soon
How gay is green?
What is your gay!
I remember when the wizard game came out there were articles written about how you can play the game covertly on steam or whatever, so, yes, there likely is shame there.
It's true

I've been following your art since 2008! I loved your style back then and I still love it now
Do you mind if I message you about it?
Do you ever find it hard to reach out to people because of your CPTSD?
Yeah! I'll see how things go, I'll give it a shot
I'll keep that in mind :>
Yep they are, I might consider uploading more often there at this point.
I follow a lot of people who do either pixel art or something low res adjacent. A lot of their uploads have inconsistently blurry pixels now when they were sharp before.
It's crazy to me how this "new technology" keeps making things worse and taking functionality away from us.
There was a time it was perfectly normal to have an animated avatar or user pages with more customization, and for a time, uploading images larger than 2000x2000
idk if this is old news, but I guess bluesky did *something* with their image compression so now static pixel art looks even worse.
Not even the 8x trick works anymore and a lot of pictures have been affected retroactively.
I've decided I'll go the route of "milestones" for larger projects. Anything more detailed I think I'll share after the relevant milestone.
The biggest thing for me, I think, is I want to be able to post a regular "I'm still alive!" thing that's like... actually something lol
Not just text, but an actual thing of some kind. So perhaps there is a balance to it I could strike.
I usually do that, if I think to do it at all.
I've been seeing people chart their progress on bigger projects they're working on and I always find it really cool personally.
Let's say I were to share the progress of a 3D model for instance, rather than just showing the final result out of nowhere.
Do you feel that diminishes the final result once it finally arrives?
I kinda prefer to share things that are finished, only really showing development stuff after the fact, because I worry showing the development first would diminish the final result in some way.
I'm tempted to start sharing developments of certain projects as I go. Not sure.
His head being so leaned forward is an awesome detail, really emphasizes his large form
Don't worry! All art is replacable. It's okay, child, we'll get you a new toy.
I always found substituting problematic media/artists for someone else weirdly dehumanizing to the entire craft.
Humans aren't butter
Twitter was worse for my mental health overall, but the migration to bluesky took a huge toll on my self-esteem. I'm the kind of person that gets lost in the cracks of migrations like this and that sucked hard. I feel like the next migration I'm just gonna quit instead.
Same! A lot of artists I looked up to used to follow me on x, including you, but a lot of those contacts never followed me here on bluesky.
The only things that will actually create change are if the devs, brand managers, and marketing teams all decide that the benefits outweigh the risk (unlikely given the brand has been doing well in recent years from what I can tell)
I've done a few sculpts and a rigged model in private, it's definitely more than doable.
The issue isn't whether it can't be done, it's the fact that the current model is synonymous with the brand image, for better or worse. Changing it, even for the better, is a massive risk.
