Here's news about the new book by me and @clairedederer.bsky.social, for my pals at @doubledaybooks.bsky.social, publishers of my last two books. True facts: Claire is not just the author of 'Monsters,' the great book of social criticism, but also my real life wife.

FB is a fuckin cesspool of that stuff. Ugh. Ugh. And are all those photos AI creations, too? Facebook is intolerable.
That you know of. Light beer is a schemer and the shit it gets away with is just hideous and wrong.
I have a Thing about light beer. Don’t go near it. Despise it on principle. It may be a delusional Thing and I have no idea why said principle exists but it does and a man has to live by something.
Fuckin IPA bros keep insisting it’s the best, etc, and I’m glad they like it and that it’s there for them but it’s not for me and all those bars that have half a dozen IPA’s and maybe a single lager/pilsener that might even be a LIGHT beer, for fuck’s sake, should reconsider. Is my hope.
It's TACO Tuesday!
Speaking of that episode in “Tar,” if there’s anything better and more life-affirming than a network tv newsman lovingly portraying himself in a movie it’s a highbrow writer lovingly portraying himself in a movie. Five ⭐️, 10/10, no notes.

Sometimes I think of Tweeter. SometimesI think of Jan. And sometimes I don’t think about nothing but the Monkey Man.
I'm beginning to suspect that for #bezos and his mega-rich media-gutting ilk, the #WaPo's "Democracy dies in darkness" slogan was once a warning. But when your personal fortune eclipses the GNP of entire nations it becomes an aspiration.
You told me you weren't going to Mike's for the bbq. You said you had to stay home and wash your hair. wtf, man.
Zero evidence except for the guy at ActBlue who said it happened, and that there was a way to stop it. But you seem determined to ignore that, so this conversation is pointless.
They certainly seemed to make it clear when they said I had to remove my cell # from my profile to make it stop. Tho of course it never stopped. But I guess you have special information that contradicts what they told me about their practices?
What made you think I was pursuing this as a journalist? I'm just a donor beset by a rapacious organization that admitted it had circulated my information, promised to stop once I removed my phone information, then either persisted or had already handed/sold my information to other rapacious hands.
Nonsense. I gave money for decades without getting targeted by other campaigns. I gave through ActBlue and it's been nonstop. Hundreds and hundreds of fundraising texts that flood in years after ActBlue told me I had to remove my phone # from my account to make it stop. I did. Nothing changed.
I'll stop you when you say something inaccurate.
Can I blame the post office for the 100s and 100s of fundraising texts I get from campaigns all across the nation -- including for local races in places I've never even visited? Because when I complained @actblueorg.bsky.social admitted they'd shared my info and said it would stop. And it didn't.
@ActBlue is a repellant cash-sucking operation with the lightest scrim of progressive politics to bring in the suckers. They’ve sold my info to so many other cash-grab campaigns I will never donate to any campaign that works with them. Never. Ever.
who the fuck WANTS their posts to go viral, have you ever had that actually happen? it's like getting a winning pull on a slot machine if wasps started pouring out the bottom instead of quarters
Maybe he should get a little more rest.
but but but they just gave Trump the bespoke peace prize he ordered up as a self-invented consolation for not winning a Nobel! And isn't FIFA the most corrupt and amoral pro sports league on the planet? Including the ones that do whatever Ultimate Fighting is?
Because Reiner was rich and famous. And while it's one thing to threaten and diminish foreigners, or even legislators, it's another thing in our society to make light of the death of a celebrity? (I'm just spitballing here. Also, I have no idea who wrote that.)
Exactly my thought.
He looks demented but his voters don't care. Near the end of the campaign he did that photo op with the garbage truck, his face painted a deep orange that made him look like a fuckin Oompah Oompah and then nearly fell over when he tried to open the truck door. Days later he won all the swing states.
Hey friends: I'm teaching a live 90 minute online class on December 18 to share what I've learned about artistry, identity and authenticity from Bruce Springsteen, the subject of two (2) books I've written, TONIGHT IN JUNGLELAND and BRUCE. Join us!
Yeah, that's a drag. At least the Sierra Club actually does stuff tho, whereas ActBlue is just a money mill with a light scrim of progressive-ish politics over the top. Mostly a money mill tho, and selling peoples' info to any and all buyers is the obvious point of the enterprise. A pox on them.
