Replacing Sunday Miscellany's distinctive and effective opening tune with something from a suite of narrow sounds fails to recognise that one of the value diversity.

The programme could be moved to Lyric FM which handles diversity within a shared identity much better than Radio 1 does.

NEW: Richard Tice failed to pay almost £100,000 in corporation tax, benefiting his investment company which made large donations to Reform UK.

Well at least they’ve kept the original music for the end. But why not also for the start? This is a silly change that should be reversed

Dear @rte what the hell was that new theme to @sundaymiscellany.bsky.social !!!!?? Reminds of when someone thought it a good idea to change the Archers tune on the BBC. That was a mistake as most certainly is this. #reimstateSunmisctheme #speirgorm

“weak on crime”
“terrible for foreign policy”
“catering to the Radical Left”
“owes his position to me”
“sit down and mind your own business”

POPE LEO, unbothered:
“We are called to love.”

On the train back home from Warsaw right now, and two Ukrainian women across the carriage from me are absolutely delighted about the Hungarian election result. One is in tears and the other is laughing. This is what it means to get rid of the cynical, kleptocratic prick.
