The grave wasn't deep enough, it seems

The frequency by which this song shows up in rotation for me is a clear bellwether for my mood and mental state. It's been in the mix a lot the last year. Love belting it out but am also aware it may dampen the mood at karaoke if I opted for it in public 😆

Absolute legend. He got us through lock down(s) and a couple years beyond. It was a proper grieved loss in my life when our kid aged out of the in-person shows a few years back. I sometimes want to swing by a venue to say a quick hello but realise how weird it would be to rock up without a kid 😅

The stuff you just reposted of the road surface quality is the sort of data that makes me miss municipal politics 😍

A view of the mississauga skyline from an airplane, looking south towards Square One.

Downtown Mississauga really distills the GTA’s deeply weird melange of urban conditions. A giant suburban shopping mall, surrounded by surface parking, surrounded by a huge cluster of new-build towers, surrounded by single-family suburbia. The Toronto turducken.

We just walked the dog and it looked like rain so I grabbed the big golfing brolly we keep by the back door. It hasn't been used in months and months.

The dog keeps going a bit mad, trying to grab the brolly off me.

No idea why, stupid hound.

Aux Vivres Restaurant Montreal's original vegan restaurant is serving delicious and wholesome meals daily in the Plateau and Westmount!

Aux Vivres is a firm favourite and I'm not a vegan. If you find yourself craving vegetables, head here for a bowl: en.auxvivres.com or for comfort, Tête de Pierogi for a bowl of dumplings:

Aww, that's a shame - I would have loved that! I'll be up more regularly now so I'll give you a heads up when I'm back with time to spare in case you're around 😍

Wait, I'm in Leeds! I had no idea how far north it was.

I agree, any feline affection you have to earn is so satisfying. This one is quick to flop and show belly but it is absolutely a trap. Twice now I've been fooled and got the scratches to prove it, lol.

A slim black cat, seen from above, on the pavement beside a dark car. The cat doesn't make eye contact because why should it, you're not worth it's precious time.

Saw this cat again but gave them a wide berth this time. Absolutely gorgeous and haughty so obviously 10/10, but history reminds me that I want to keep this one sharp side down. @thecatreviewer.bsky.social

I owe an apology to George Lucas. It turns out Jar Jar getting an esteemed role for which he is wildly unqualified in a fascist government was actually the most realistic thing in the prequels.

James and I listened to this last night and squealed with glee, both at the content itself and at the fact that Andy has new music. Strongly recommended.

Best reason to get a phone call. Thank you! I'm happily chuckling away.

Passed two people having a chat on the sidewalk, with a dog between them, belly up looking for pats. AND NO ONE WAS PATTING THE GOOD DOG. Who ignores a belly up pup?!

Certainly feels that way! Lol

Oh, that's quite sweet! I've aligned my language with the nation in which the Tour de France starts each year (I'll be at a conference yearly that overlaps). This year is Italy and then they've decided to take a break from leaving France. That was not my intention 😆

Duolingo!! I'm doing Italian through to June then may move to French or, time allowing, keep them both on. I'm excited for your September and I think your approach is sound.

Internal monologue (24-26 Dec): "Why am I eating? Again!"

Most days I'm pretty chill if there are items out of stock for the Ocado order but today, today, I am not chill. Looking forward to sending James to the shop for both types of Christmas crackers.

In a delightful update: Doctor took me seriously and I am halfway through wearing a heart monitor to see what can be learned. The nurse reassured me that because I'm wearing the monitor I wouldn't have the palpitations. Joke's on her - last night was nonstop. So that's....nice?

Had extra time this morning because EVERYONE decided to be up at 6:23 so I made pancakes. Put chocolate chips in some. Turns out my child dislikes chocolate chip pancakes...if she hadn't drunk the leftover maple syrup off the dish, I'd have questioned if she was actually mine.
