I am/was an archaeologist for the Forest Service. I serve(d) the southern half of the Okanogan-Wenatchee Forest, a federal landscape forest with high priority. I have served the Forest Service as a seasonal employee since 2020 and was just hired in a full-time capacity in August of last year.

I just today (Sunday) received a call from my forest service supervisor. I was laid off as a result of Mr. Trump's EO excising all probationary federal employees. He made sure it was done over the long weekend rather than waiting until the next work day.

Yeah, I had a biopsy already. It's the waiting for the scans and then for the results that's getting to me. I just keep going to worst case scenarios, so enormous anxiety.
