The strange dissonance of loathing something in its present form and missing it for, if not what it necessarily *was*, then what it could've been…

💔 So bummed to be missing this in person, but I know you'll be phenomenal!

https://fedifinder.glitch.me/ now finds your Twitter contacts on Bluesky as well.

Currently quite basic by checking for bsky.app or bsky.social links. I started with DNS TXT lookups, which worked great until I tested it with thousands of accounts which triggered the DDoS protection.

Honestly, my misreadings are just always more interesting. Like, last week 🍎 news headline was something like: “Inside Pentagon's years long UFO studies"…which I read as "Inside Patagonia's years long UFO studies".
💭 Great outdoor gear AND extraterrestrial studies?! Way to go, Patagonia!

ChatGPT Prompt Guide (for R users). The mistake I was making was not being specific enough in directing chatgpt what R code I want it to write for me. If you look at what I’m doing now… Image shows example ChatGPT prompt: "Using the osmdata R library, write R code to find the locations of all pharmacies in Pittsburgh. Then use mapview to visualize the pharmacies on a map." Arrows point to osmdata and mapview with the annotation "Which R libraries?". Arrows point to the word pharmacies with the annotation "What business Type". Arrows point to the word Pittsburgh with the annotation "Which location?".

I haven't used ChatGPT to code much…BUT this 5-min video w/ Matt Dancho is a nice lil' case study/crash course:

I swear this isn't a @tanyashapiro.bsky.social stan account, but if you like dataviz, R, Drag Race…cool things, this convo about her adventures w/ Observable is a great read:

I know hashtags aren't a thing here (I think), but putting out the #rstats signal just in case so you don't miss this opportunity to learn from one of my faves 👇
