If you'd told me when I started out, that 8 years after legalization I'd still be running Vancouver's last of the old school, legacy, grey market cannabis dispensaries, I honestly don't think I'd have been too surprised.

Nope. A few hundred folks. It's a long way from our peak in 2019! Crowd will swell at 4pm, but times have changed.

I miss when Vancouver 420 was 200,000+ people with 500 booths selling weed while we rocked out to live Cypress Hill.

Fearmongers said legal weed would cause all sorts of problems. But none of their doom predictions came true.

When we end prohibition on other drugs we will also see good things happen.

In Canada, cannabis is regulated way more strictly than booze. It's sold covered in warning labels, while liquor has none. Taxes are higher on cannabis than on booze. Rules on where it can be sold are much more limited. And there's hardly anywhere you're actually allowed to use it.

What we call "the war on drugs" is in reality a war on plants.

Coca leaf, opium poppies, cannabis flowers, peyote cactus and so on are among the world's most beneficial, culturally relevant and medicinally valuable plants.
