Which begs the question, who currently holds the position of "Dave Paterson"?

True, but @davepaters.bsky.social still has to go before Congress...

When is that going to happen Dave Paters...?

WHEN?!

Barbarian.

When people say, "Can I get...?", what they mean is, "Hey, you've been working really hard. Put your feet up, take a break, whilst I make my own double decaf expresso latte with sprinkles, and pay you for the privilege because you are tired."

It is a sign that the purchaser cares.

And ultimately, the renaissance does come from the fans of Call of Cthulhu, both in terms of development and content.

Difficult to pick highlights from the 00s.

Unseen Masters (2001)
Tatters of the King (2006)
Secrets of Kenya (2007)

The renaissance began in 2008-9 with Miskatonic River Press. A combination of new writers, stronger material, and a familiar setting.

It was also hard for the fan to pick the good from the bad. Some monographs did get republished, but less than a handful. Thankfully, some of the better authors are still writing and have found publishing outlets.

Later, there were the Monographs. But like anything Chaoisum did during this period, there was an air of desperation to them. As an outlet for creatives, they were limited. Direct sales only and they were uncurated. So no development or editing, which lead to a lot of schlock.
