Who says you need to buy new hardware? It's always a magic feeling when you can supercharge old Android-based terminals and Windows 7 machines with peer-to-peer!

The reporting on OpenAI and Sam Altman I've been working on for the past year and a half, for @newyorker.com, with Andrew Marantz: www.newyorker.com/magazine/202...
I think the NSAโs insistence on pure MLKEM in TLS also suggests the timeline is a lot shorter than we thought. To me, it suggests they have similar predictions internally.
Which is a shame because we were starting to get some cool new primitives: OPRF, VRF, etc.
Over the last two years we spent tons of effort into writing a #rust QUIC multipath & NAT traversal implementation.
Beyond iroh, we're now ready to share it as a building block for others to use!

Build features, review PRs, shape how contributors engage with Zed.
Interesting problems, Rust codebase, small team, fully remote.
Your work ships in days and users notice.

Got @iroh.computer to work on the smallest device yet.
An ESP32 with 4MB of application memory and 4MB of heap.
This is a horribly patched version, but nothing drastic, just reducing deps.
I remember when I made my FB account, I found it really boring and surprising that I couldn't customize my profile. I was like this is the yellow pages???? Now everything is fucking boring. And costs money.
who said the bay is dead? we're keeping the hacker vibe alive in Oakland, but this decade will be rust flavored -- with talks from n0.computer, dioxus, zed, and goose! luma.com/cyu67mpz
While this absolutely sucks, we are going to see a lot more places implementing universal global age verification over this next year, because the number of states and countries legally requiring it has gotten to the point no one can keep up anymore.
Claude: "This failure is unrelated to my changes."
Me: "that's ok just fix it anyway"
Sometimes it really does feel like working with an intern.
just amazing work by my colleagues at @wsj.com - a frame by frame analysis of the shooting
incredible that some continue to rationalize this

When you see Mamdani looking all normal doing normal person thingsโpetting bodega cats, riding public transportโyou realize just how bizarre and estranged our average candidate for public office is. Rich martians in flesh suits
Thanks
Is it possible that he looks almost exactly the same on both days or more likely someone is spreading misinformation?
The photo was taken while leaving the building, in the video it appears to be later
This was taken in June
m.youtube.com/shorts/LDADh...
How can I report misinformation?
Exactly! Mamdani's most "radical" proposals โ free buses, government grocery stores, higher taxes on the wealthy, a huge increase in affordable housing โ really aren't that radical.
The centrist meltdown has to be about something else.
Worth a watch:
Head of Signal, Meredith Whittaker, on so-called "agentic AI" and the difference between how it's described in the marketing and what access and control it would actually require to work as advertised.
Padilla: If this is how DHS responds to a senator with a question you can only imagine what they're doing to farm workers, to cooks, to day laborers out in the Los Angeles community and throughout California.
@tgoerke.bsky.social hey nice to meet you!
On my way to Berlin today for local first conf next week!
There was power in undressing our wounds in public for a while. It helped raised consciousness. That time is obviously over.
The fact that the stock market swings by 1000 points every time the man opens his mouth is not a sign of a strong and healthy economy.
๐๐ฏ Again, your periodic reminders that it is not the 1950s anymore, the median voter works in the nontradable services sector, therefore she experiences international trade <only> as a consumer, the balance of payments has two sides, & the mercantilism is just going to make everyone a lot poorer.
I've been clear: if President Bukele doesn't want to meet here in D.C., then I intend to go to El Salvador this week to check on Kilmar Abrego Garcia's condition and discuss his release.
Kilmar was illegally ABDUCTED and deported by the Trump Admin. He must be brought home NOW.
Look at how X summarizes the Abrego Garcia story (remembering that he is not MS-13, or guilty of anything at all)
