My fingers hurt from the slow stitch mending I'm doing on my husband's pants. To keep me partially occupied and not thinking too much. Like about behaviors I learned from my mom that I was pleasantly ignorant of previously...
Family visits are fun.

it was collapse. my body hurts too much now.
My mom is visiting. So, re-listening to The Magnus Archives while incessantly cleaning till I either collapse or am satisfied. (one is more likely than the other...) #audiodrama #themagnusarchives

Me: sees a video of someone weaving with cardboard, pins and yarn
Me: "I don't need a new hobby."
Me: sees that they used the weaving to make a little bag
Me: ...
Me: "I have all the supplies for this..."

Me: still watching video

Me: "But it would be so cool."
another perk of spring - all the neighbourhood kitties sitting in the front windows to bask in the sun ☀️
Night night sweet dreamies
Being defeated is often a temporary condition.
Giving up is what makes it permanent
I know a lot of folks have been asking about the US release of The Burn Line, and I've only been able to answer with an enigmatic smirk. Well no longer - behold!!
The cover is sick!
(...like positive slang... not like upchucking... even though that's what it looks like the skull is doing with the train...)
Image of a mourning dove bird on a roof corner from below. Tree branches with white flowers are above the bird.
There are so many #birds on my walk to my car in the morning. Yesterday I got a pic of a mourning dove. Today I saw a red-headed woodpecker that was pecking one of the trees right next to the sidewalk. Wish I could have gotten a pic or vid, but too many branches and it was tiny. #nature

Had a visitor this morning!
I posted this to Insta with the song "Fuck it I'm a Flower" by Crying Day Care Choir. Thought it felt appropriate. And amusing.
A comic of two foxes, one of whom is blue, the other is green. In this one, Blue approaches a mysterious pile of blankets that is almost as tall as a fox. Blue: Green? What's this blanket pile here? Blue sits down to study the blanket pile more closely as Green's voice is audilbe from within. Green, unseen from the blanket pile: It's me. Blue: Are you cold? Green: Not anymore. Blue: Okay. Do you need anything? Green: Get in here.

Omg! Huge shoutout to San Francisco, CA! Ocean Beach, you crushed it! 🌊
It's spring so of course my Dutch husband has cross-stitched a new tablecloth to match the backyard flowers
A photo of a piece of cross stitch on white Aida cloth. It reads "My courage always rises at every attempt to intimidate me. - Jane Austen". The word "courage" is rainbow-coloured; the rest of the quote is in black thread. A blackwork frame in black and rainbow thread surrounds the quote.
Once again today, posting this for everyone who cannot bear to be frightened at the will of others.

A 10 inch, round, full-coverage cross stitch depicting a cloudy sunset over mountains. Lots of warm colors. Mainly oranges and reds with some yellows, purples and a little bit of blue at the top showing the sky above the clouds.

This full coverage sunset cross stitch that I did a couple years ago I still one of my favorite. It looks so cool and was definitely a crash course in counted cross stitch.

Four in-progress cross stitch bookmarks with the Lord of the Rings theme. All four are only partially stitched. Mainly with the colors black and blues.

I don’t really give a shit about moralizing if someone is a “good” or “bad” person. What I care about is if you’re contributing to harm, and if you’re doing so knowingly, because it tells me a) you’re ok with that and b) as a trans person I shouldn’t trust you to actually show up for me.
Just finished the second book in the Dr. Greta Helsing series "Dreadful Company" by Vivian Shaw. I really do love these stories. Great characters, intense plot, heartwarming dynamics. Just wonderful. 💙📚
I finished 3 puzzles this weekend. 1300 pieces in like 48ish hours. Clearly I'm doing well and not at all drowning myself in tedious, detail oriented tasks that give me a small boost of dopamine every time I succeed at finding the right piece and the right spot. #burnout #neurodivergent 🙃
I listened to "Strange Practice" by Vivian Shaw some time last week. It was very cool. Both uplifting and terrifying. My only complaint was with the pacing of the audiobook. There needed to be more pauses to help transition between scenes and characters. Otherwise, loved it. 💙📚
Actually been pretty helpful for focus and calm. Which has been in short supply lately.
A coloring book image of a pumpkin with multiple abstract designs filling the entire shape. Some designs look like flowers or leaves. Mostly designs are loops, spirals, triangles and stripes. Designs are colored in warm tones of browns, oranges, reds, yellows and pinks.
Coloring book page of abstract designs filling the entire page. Designs are loops, spirals, stripes and circles. Colors are chaotic with blues, purples, pinks, reds, and greens. Design is not fully colored in with many areas of white.
A portion of my job is spent waiting on programs or documents to load, or macros to run. So, I've started coloring in "adult" coloring book pages.
The Ides of March has gotten so commercialized.
Remember the real meaning of the holiday: It's not just about stabbing people, it's about getting together to stab people in groups.
