She's so cute
It's my first step into drawing things in black and white since I did want to maybe attempt drawing a manga but also I love my colors and details too much lol.
However, good contrast is always important so I'm looking to push my skills with that even further
I rendered this was made to look like something you might find on a manga. It might be hard to realize, so I made this version as well
I went a bit overboard on the render because it was in color after all, but I think you can see the choices better in black and white

I'm really glad people liked the colors when I showed them earlier. I'm happy my skills are still improving
... detailed even though the shading is simple. It takes so much skill to express more detail with less.
(#27) highlighting things I like about other people's art
The lighting is so good. The direction is clear, the shadows are well defined.
One thing I especially like is how there really are only 4 levels of shadow for each material but they are placed really well to make the piece look very...

With Endfield releasing soon I felt a bit nostalgic...freehanding background is challenging but fun!!

(#26) pointing out things I like about other people's art
The shadows are so accurate on the metal structure that despite the shape being mostly obscured, it's still easy to visualize the structure.
Also the metal surface is painted so convincingly even with just a few details

(#25) highlighting things I like in other people's art
This feels so warm. The use of greys, yellows, and golds even in the purple parts of the hair gives a very cozy vibe to the piece

(#24)highlighting things i like about other people's art
i think I've been mentioning expressions a lot recently but good expressions like these make art so lively. I'm learning from looking at others
In this, this the eyes being slightly closed makes for a great illusion of comfort and tiredness
...while not hiding the huge amount of detail in the background
(#23)highlighting things i like about other people's art
The expressions here are so good. there's an amazing story being told here and the expressions do such a good job of making the scene as lively as it is
Also the lighting is so well done. I like the way it highlight's the important parts...
Lineart for a 1 page manga style illustration. It depicts a cat girl character wearing a tattered battle suit in a dynamic pose
What's the key to making something look like it's from a manga? I'm trying this out for the first time and I want to draw something along the lines of a full page spread.
Need tips soooo bad cause I have no clue what I'm doing
Here's what I have for the lineart so far
...bring themselves to interact the way others do.
As a consumer of art. I'm personally not interested in how much an artist is able to talk and interact. I care more about seeing art I like
As an artist, I like talking but not as much as I like drawing
I see why some people might not talk often
I wonder if there is a way artists who just want to post their art and disappear to get the attention their art deserves. I know I struggle with interacting sometimes. There's probably plenty of really capable artist who deserve attention for their art but can't otherwise ...
I post so infrequently that my backlog was done in like 5 days :/ I gotta get back to drawing but it takes a month for each drawing
