A lot of companies have been barely holding on over 2+ years of recession like conditions. This will be the final straw.
Hell yes. 🙌🏽 Greens first out the gate with ‘electrify everything’.
It’s always been dumb to import so much fossil energy and now this draining sound from our economy
Really really is time to drop the silly culture war on bike lanes, roll our sleaves up and complete the long planned cycleway networks. Everyone wins when someone rides, leaving more of expensive stinky stuff for other users:

Péter Magyar, who unseated Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán Sunday in a landslide, shared a bombshell with reporters that the outgoing leader had diverted taxpayer funds to bankroll the American Conservative Political Action Conference. trib.al/ct7GGV3
Join me in boycotting fuel instead 😅
Something to watch. Talk of boycotting road user charges (RUC) for diesel.

💥🇭🇺🗳️First results of the Hungarian parliamentary elections are in: with 14.72% counted, the opposition leads with mandates nearing a two-thirds majority.
Everything points to Viktor Orbán’s defeat and Péter Magyar becoming Hungary’s next prime minister.
Hungary’s turnout is BRUTAL: 37.98% by 11am (2022: 22.77%), pointing to 75–80% or more overall. In such a scenario, Orbán’s chances look slim, and it’s unlikely any party beyond Fidesz and Péter Magyar’s Tisza clears the 5% threshold.

It's got to sting. You base your whole strategy on blaming last Govt for inflation caused by a global price shock, and then another one pops up as you head into the election!
Now, can you invest in lessening the impact? Well, yes, but you can't because you've made fiscal constraint your thing! Lol.
🔥 I took a couple of days to compile this long analysis.
The elections in Hungary tomorrow are seismic, globally. So I cover:
- The rise of Orbán
- Orbán’s weakening
- The emergence of Péter Magyar
- The election battle
- The JD Vance visit
- What it all means for Hungary, the EU, Putin & Trump
$200m more a week how? It's crude (get it) but... Average retail cost over previous year for diesel, petrol 95 and petrol 91 = 188c, 271c, and 256c Consumption in litres per day for diesel, petrol 95 and petrol 91 = 12m, 0.5m, and 7.5m Now, assume reduction in consumption of 5% diesel and 10% petrol Use MBIE weekly retail data to work out the extra cost. Oh, haven't included aviation fuel.
You might have noticed that fuel is more expensive. My rough reckons (see ALT) suggests that the country is spending about $200m more per week on fuel compared to the average over the year before the Trump Genie granted Netanyahu another wish. Potential economic impact? [1/n]

“Researchers also found the rear cab was "seldom used" and 88% of ute trips were driver-only.”
Use was also "highly gendered", with the male to female ratio of drivers at 5:1.

Diesel v Petrol use in transport
It is time 💪🏽
This is going to be incredibly destabilising and challenging for a lot of people in our car dependent cities.
