Thanks. I have written quite a bit on archaeology, so maybe just a primer is needed and then more detail at the end, if anyone wants it.
If you were to use the archaeology based worldbuilding tool I’m creating, would you want to see the tool itself up front or some intro to its archaeological basis first?
Working on an example section diagram. Pretty clear that even a basic textured version is better than a clean schematic style.
A snippet of some draft tables for the archaeology-focused worldbuilding tool I’m drafting.
And some fallen comrades…
Into the forest. Is it Fangorn? Mirkwood? The Old Forest?
Who knows…?
Somehow, a unit of dwarfs I painted when I was a teenager are still surviving in the clutter of my parent’s house…
Happy Friday ##Ttrpgcommunity folks.

My archaeology focused worldbuilding tool rumbles on in development. Here’s a flow chart showing the rolls/process involved in making archaeological data for your own world.

Is 14 a good number of novel random tables for a short, archaeology focused worldbuilding supplement?
I’m actually starting to look forward to Kickstarter-ing my archaeology base worldbuilding tool. Got some stretch goal ideas and artists in mind.
If I named a creature as a Myrmotaur, what image would that conjure?
A test run. An earlier goblin ‘farm’, including them polluting the area with metalworking waste and possible buried loot, was replaced by a human settlement specialising in pigs and the butchery trade.
Any suggestions for that transition?
Reviving the worldbuilding tool I was working on last year helping people make a coherent archaeology for their settings. Also working to sneak in some explanation of archaeological work, like stratigraphy and the Harris Matrix.

Pirate Borg’s a good laugh.
I will also cheekily suggest my free 2-page game Alright Guv’nor or the upcoming T’ Other Ship. One’s a London detective game and t‘ other’s a deep space farce.
Title logo created for T’ Other Ship, a two-page RPG about escaping a sabotaged Yorkshire Trans-Galactic Haulage Corp. ship carrying pudding batter and fine cricket paraphernalia.
What’s your preferred bit of equipment to face down a slimy alien?
Key character traits - I think I’m going to have to include a glossary….

Worldbuilding prompt: standard measures used to be displayed on town churches in Europe.
Who decides the standard measures in your world? How do craftspeople and others know these standards?
Anyway, yes, the Mar. They are not particularly poetic, but do have a couple of ‘epics’ to tell. The one in question is about how the monstrosities of Undersea sank the Mar’s islands and the Mar were led to safety by the whales - the Great Ones.
An origin myth and reason why whales are sacred.
