I think GenAI garbage is sort of the end goal of needing every part of your artistic process to be "perfect." We are not perfect. Art is not perfect. There'd be no point in discussing or creating art if perfection has been achieved. By chasing perfection, you start seeing art as a problem to solve.

i agree it’s scary the extent to which arts & media are all having their funding slashed and burned but think about how many aesthetic icons looked or sounded the way they did because there was no money to make them conform with the standards of the time
