Next stop #Canberra to visit a beautiful old friend that I met in my first year teaching. She has since moved out of Edu. Lovely walk up Red Hill with the dogs.

Another highlight was the glow worm caves. Most excellent. All the unsealed roads in had been newly groomed too.

Back home after a great roady. First time I’ve done the Lost Cities #bushwalk best bit was the group of guys in their late 70s doing it together. I was so puffed walking back out from the valley, they are my new inspo.

'Devastating blow': Greyhound racing to be banned, industry to seek review There have been three reviews in recent years highlighting animal welfare concerns.

Yes!! Greyhound racing banned in NZ. Come one Aussie, get in line, the trauma that my Izzy is recovering from should not happen to any animal. www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/winston-p...

#bookrecommendation Richard Fidler's The Book of Roads and Kingdoms. I'm a bit late to this one but have been thoroughly enjoying it. It explores the Islamic Empire and the dynasties that ruled it at the time of the Islamic Golden Age. It's well worth listening to Richard read it on audio.

It's such a complex issue isn't it? I wonder if my next decade of teaching will be as ever evolving as my first two? Something tells me that it will be even more so.
