We are working on our poster pocketbooks on the Spanish Revolution and Civil War. Volume 2 will include this graphic, the front cover of issue 11 of the historic magazine Mujeres Libres.

Not 100% happy with the clean up job - so we aren't going to be printing it - but it's up on our website.

Like… We cannot go ahead and have the World Cup now like nothing is going on. Regardless of what does or doesn’t happen tonight. Countries should simply refuse to send teams. The rest of the world cannot treat us as a remotely normal country after this

If anyone has any spare cash down the side of the sofa - you could for worse than donating to this.

This group has produced brilliant theatre in the past including about the International Brigades in Spain and the Grunwick Strike.

No doubt the story of Joe Clough will be inspiring!!

After the Commune was brutally crushed in the "week of blood" - 10,000 and 20,000 Communards were killed - about 3,000 emigrated to England where many of them became involved in revolutionary organisations such as the Social Democratic Federation, the Socialist League or the 'Freedom' anarchists.

On the eve of the elections the National Guard published their 'advice to voters'.

The people of Paris elected the Paris Commune - which immediately set about implementing a revolutionary programme.

Marx and Engels would later describe it as the first ever "dictatorship of the proletariat".

We just finished completely recreating the "Proclamation of 25th March". In March 1871, having survived a months' long siege by the invading Prussian army - the National Guard (made up of recruits from working class areas) seized power and held elections.
