Everyone who’d complained about the mediocre half-effort AAA industry pushouts should be cheering for this and the chance to put something new into the field.
The same enthusiasm that went towards Markiplier making Iron Lung a smash success “against all Hollywood odds” should be happening here too!

Me too, I'm with ya on that. I really think things are looking up.
Sure, I get where you're coming from! But rocking the boat the way Iron Lung did is how the system gets changed. It's not going to be overnight, it's going to take many disruptions for the status quo to really change. This can be one of those disruptions.
Literally. It's like talking to a parent who resents you for turning out better than they did, with these people.
You're ignoring the fact that Mark did not start out as one of the most famous English YouTubers. He deserves every bit of success that he's experienced because he has put in the work for decades. Highly successful people are still allowed to make things and it be considered a net positive.
What's the cutoff for you? What point of success do indie creators have to reach for you to turn on them?
Someone always has to go first to carve a path for the ones following. This, like Iron Lung, will create major positive ripples through indie creation communities of all kinds. Even if all it does for some is inspire them and show them what's possible.
[through violent tears] OH SHITTTT
you put it DOWN LIKE NEW YORK CITY‼️or whatever this guy's name is.

And if you're like "well that's a funny coincidence, someone named Fox is recommending an episode of The X Files", well. have I got something to tell you.
It's been a while since I last watched it but I'm sure it'd be great as a standalone.
The eighth episode in the first season of The X Files (titled "Ice") is one of my favorites of the whole series. Mulder and Scully and a small team of researchers end up trapped in a remote Alaskan research facility with some extraterrestrial parasites. It's paced beautifully, feels like a movie.
People aren't recognizing this behavior as dangerous and irresponsible and that's the issue. They're just spreading this information for fun and engaging with it so the algorithm pushes it out even further. People need to be smart enough to leave it alone.
and to refuse to benefit from it. I've seen a bunch of tiktoks of TADC fans sharing these specific locations and using this information to fuel their theories, and these tiktoks have been blowing up because of that engagement. Because people think this is all a game.
I never said that you specifically were blaming the creators, I was referring to the tendency to do that when things like this happen in fandom spaces. And the way to discourage this kind of behavior is to specifically tell the people perpetuating it that it's not okay,
But hey, it's easier to blame creators rather than hold fans accountable and place higher expectations for fandom etiquette. It's easier to let the pool of parasocial out-of-touch fanatics just keep doing what they do rather than decry their behavior and refuse to engage with it.
The point is that it should NOT be a "fandom will be fandom" moment. The point is that the VAST majority of fans should be smart enough and responsible enough to not engage with and popularize the information spread by irresponsible individuals. Expectations for fan behavior should be WAY higher.
2/2 and share the actual location is frankly just as irresponsible and lets the actual (dare I say?) parasocial people get away with it. This isn't a "fandom will be fandom 🤷♀️" moment, this is a "fans are behaving incredibly irresponsibly and that cannot continue to be normalized and shrugged off."
Yeah, I really don't think creators can or should be blamed for behavior like this. It would be different if there had been any immediately identifiable information had been left in the shots, but obviously there wasn't. Blaming the creator for someone else's irresponsible decision to track down 1/2
I just finished playing through The Witcher 3 for the first time and I'm about to restart it but with the Polish audio and English subtitles so I can hear it in its original language. I will not desire a new game for a WHILE lol
No no, I lived there for 23 years and you're not wrong lmao
she has become a dacula
I'm trying to come up with something clever to say but imagining every possible angle someone could approach this thing to use it as a urinal is making me laugh so hard that my ribs hurt.
That's what the guy driving the G.U.N. truck at the end of City Escape was ACTUALLY doing, Sonic unfortunately just happened to get in the way.
I wish there was a sex Chaos Drive. Missed opportunity.
I scribbled a little
Very good scribbles, I like them :D
