Memories of very foolishly moving to the University District in Seattle, reasoning correctly that the public transport would be good, but reasoning incorrectly that the bars would also be good. There were, I think, three, and one is now a McDonald's.

I promise the government it is possible to believe "very online leftists are often annoying" (true) and also rise above trying to own them at every opportunity.
A very large quantity of the free-to-use stock video of Scotland is provided by Martyn Day, formerly the SNP MP for Linlithgow and East Falkirk. Genuinely very public spirited of him!
A different but related idea I had for basketball was to make the hoop rise one inch higher every time a basket is scored. Kind of IRL rubberbanding.
I did buy a suitcase the day before flying back and check *that* but that was because I wanted tons of souvenirs and knew it could pull double duty for our move back to the UK
I travelled the length of Japan with a backpack and a carry-on because I knew a month of heaving a big suitcase on and off the Shinkansen would have been miserable. Ana and I are... not good at staying in one place for our holidays.

This isn't good.
It's, somehow, the Revolutionary Communist Party's world and we're just living in it.
I had to read this twice to understand it was not a question from the opposition
Having a medium-level earache is like turning up life's difficulty slider to Hard. Just makes everything 20% more uncomfortable and slow.
Friends fear he's arguing with the Meta support AI again.
Latest update: I did all the things the support AI told me to do, largely out of spite, and lo and behold, it was hallucinating and they didn't work.
I find myself a lot more troubled by this than traditional terrorism tbh - the terrorist has a warped but existent ethos with a thread of logic you can follow. What do you do with someone who'll destroy and kill for the highest bidder?
People being deracinated from society - bad, imo.
I have noticed attempts at youth-focused advertising for the races on the Tube and so on. I'm skeptical to say the least.
I think I agree. The only coalition the Scottish Lib Dems can join without major structural damage from the off is one led by Labour. Even then, they could still take significant harm from it.
I will bet you five pounds that will not happen
Suppose part of this is them just having a clearly defined demographic profile now, and that is a group of people who exist in critical mass in a few places in Scotland, and exist in about three Cardiff postcodes and along the Shropshire border in Wales.
Suppose my question is what's the Lib Dem ask in exchange for leaving the protection of the anti-SNP tactical voting bloc? Because they already have PR!
Particularly for the contrast with them having a dreadful Welsh elections.
The Lib Dems seem to be having a very good Scottish elections for them which is both interesting and getting absolutely zero coverage.
Oh hey it's my local Greggs! ...oh.
Agree - should also have included shoes here!
Was talking to someone yesterday who's been canvassing for Wandsworth Tories and the problem they report is a "yeah we hate Labour but you'll do nothing" mood.
Most amusing/depressing anecdote award goes to: "I can't vote for Labour because of their support for Israel. Maybe I'll vote Reform."
When I travelled round Japan recently I swiftly realised it was definitely always worth the extra few hundred yen a night to go for a cheapish business hotel over a youth hostel if I could help it!
The best returns on your money for "units of quality of life per pound spent" are, I reckon:
- Fancy coffee
- Train > Bus
- Cheap hotel > youth hostel
- A good computer mouse
- Good headphones
- Office chair and desk
- Cookware
- Bedclothes
A weird marker of financial security that has lodged itself in my brain was when I got my job at the Co-op Party and suddenly realised I'd never again have to take the Megabus.
