The assisted dying bill is set to fall - not for lack of support, but because opponents in the Lords are blocking it. Defying the will of Parliament & the public.
I joined MPs & campaigners at Downing Street to demand the Government give the issue the time it deserves next Parliamentary session.

Boris Johnson on his way back from a party
Kemi Badenoch can't believe Keir Starmer would allow anyone with links to the Kremlin anywhere near government
"Farage has clocked up nearly £2 million in income and gifts since he was elected as the member for Clacton in July 2024." open.substack.com/pub/writesbr...
£675,000 for Farage from overseas donors.
"Of Farage’s 28 personal patrons, 20 are based abroad."
I imagine that's the highest of any MP.
I don't think it's unreasonable to say no MP should get gifts from overseas firms or donors. Feels like a pretty basic anti-interference measure.

Iran war latest: Condom prices could rise 30% due to supply chain issues, with the world already paying for a lack of protection 79 years ago
A local tattoo artist posted a video on Instagram of him asking two blokes in hi-vis not to put up an England flag on the lamp post outside his shop. Consequence: a flood of bad Google reviews including the predictable “paedo” allegations (“he touched my daughter” etc). Truly the shittiest people.
More threats and intimidation from Ryan Bridge the Supreme Leader of Flag Shaggers, what's remarkable is that his victim is a white man and not a woman for a change. Bridge is currently on bail for public order offences. This is Stratford Road, Shirley, in the West Midlands, one for the police.
PV energy 1.4kw Current usage 0.4kw Battery charging with the remaining circa 1kw
Sporadic solar update...
With two people working from home, we're getting triple the energy from solar as what we're using, so the battery is recharging after the first few hours of use before it got properly light (it charged overnight until about 5am on the cheap 7p pkwh tariff)
A picture is worth a thousand words…..big drop in share price as government announces it will ‘break the link’ - a return to normal as soon as the market can see it’s not really going to. Big biz versus consumers - and big biz always wins….

The Prime Minister’s plan to offer rapid routes to settlement for those earning six-figure salaries whilst punishing and making lower-paid workers wait appears to be based on the notion that care workers are “low-skilled” because they are low-paid - its an absolute disgrace
youtu.be/DI1arGGNP50?...
CARE WORK IS HIGHLY SKILLED WORK
and only paid so poorly because of the failure of successive governments to value it properly
Renewable energy surged at RECORD PACE in 2025, with 692 GW of new capacity added worldwide as solar and wind rapidly undercut fossil fuels and strengthened energy security.
House with data markers - 3.9kw solar, 1.4kw home usage, 2.5kw going into the battery. Nothing from the grid
Lunchtime update. Getting nearly 3x as much solar power as our current consumption, so the battery is charging for tonight
PV providing 589 watts, 345 baseload usage, battery charging at 244 watts.
By 8:15am today solar was generating 70% more than our baseload usage.
On a cloudy day, in England, in April!
Lots of good green announcements from Miliband's department at the moment.
"Motorists will be able to have a “gully” to run an electric cable [for EVs] as a permitted development, which can cost £1,000 under current rules."

"Low-income households will get [free] plug-in solar panels to cut their energy bills, the Government has announced."
This is how you do a just transition.

I went and watched the segment on iPlayer. This is absolutely wild. It’s basically doing a free micro political broadcast for Reform during BBC Breakfast.
"We accidentally made an animated graphic for Reform and then did a party political broadcast for them by mistake."
Just heard about an insane "tax avoidance" scheme being pitched to recruitment agencies, involving paying HMRC with a "bill of exchange".
I'd think it was a joke if it hadn't come from an unimpeachable source.
If you come across this, do get in touch in complete confidence.

Although this is a dramatization, it does go well with what happens when we are not aware of what is happening around us.

Yesterday, the BBC covered 600 people crossing the channel in small boats on Saturday, noting it was the 2nd highest in a day so far this year. What they'd didn't add was that even including the 600 people, crossings are down 35% compared with the same time last year.
