Yessss
[taking a cartoonishly audible daffy duck gulp after an uncomfortably long silence and excessive blinking] I mean uhh… like….. I might be status mogging you?……. maybe?………
I- I don’t know your fina n c e s- O___O
Bro is gonna be replaying this one in his head for a long while lmao
Checking in NASA'S live stream of the Artemis II and just noticed they have Sailor Moon's Artemis watching as well. I love dorks
Outer Wilds and Project Hail Mary, my favourite hopepunk sci fi where the real averting a time sensitive sun-based catastrophe was the friends we made along the way
Project Hail Mary feels like listening to those Symphony of Science songs back in 2010 before the sociopaths in charge gave us all nihilism poisoning
Sometimes there are characters where you just think “I hope Jess draws them sometime”
last thing i'll say about this for now is that you're absolutely allowed to dislike the direction a show is headed, or feel that a character you like was snubbed by the narrative.
you're allowed to have those feelings, and criticism isn't bad - it's how you go about giving it that counts
It’s #IndieAnimationDay! Staving off the animation industry crash, I’m focusing my creative energies in 2026 into making a new short film. It’s called “The Twig Gatherer” about a little bird just trying to make a home. Ramping up a crowdfund early next year to hire folks to help me make it.
If indie animation is gonna have any viability, I must stress that it is important to have a good producer to figure out the money and manage the production team. I will keep banging this drum because it isnt enough to have skilled artists or writers without someone who can manage resources.
Empathy is an act of both intelligence and imagination, so I've found those that reject any nudging toward it have neither
we're getting all the downsides of cyberpunk (social alienation, ruthless hyper capitalism, digital mass surveillance state) but none of the promised upsides (cheap street food, cool jackets, super drugs that make you really fast and strong before they kill you)
I'm not a historian but my analysis is it's "Not good" when a government constantly commits crimes and tells the legislature, courts, and general public "What are you gonna do about it"
I love how you can just see a little peek of the second light in the one you made. It makes it even more uncomfortable, feeling like the space behind the board is identical to the one you’re in but hidden and not accessible
Good reminder to do this again because I just found hundreds of folks I followed on twitter that have gotten bsky accounts in the time since I last did this.
Also folks please, please update your bio to say who you are and what you do here.
I had a small moment of panic wondering if Abel’s turnaround references had leaked because I’d drawn such similar poses for him to help boards get his vibe
The way Jess immediately zeroed in on this guy’s body language and personality off nothing but a single generic image of him when it dropped
illustrated fanart of Sir Pentious, or Pendleton, from Hazbin Hotel- a thin man wearing a victorian vest and cravate. He has a prominent nose, sharp face, large glasses and long black hair. He seems to be working on something with goggles, and peering out through blinds, shadows cast across his face, with a shocked look on his face.
I drew PENDLETON hehehe he's so cute 🐍

This trend might be the funniest thing BlueSky could have done to counter the lacking whimsy accusations
If you switch to bsky it will be vitally important to not use the Discover feed and instead pin this one
More background sinners and winners I designed for Hazbin Hotel Season 2 Ep 7 - 8.
Not only did I storyboard Vox Populi, I animated this fun shot, too! Everything is hand drawn from scratch, no 3D elements were used. Lots and lots of arcs (*꒦ິ꒳꒦ີ)

Holding out hope for that creepy carnival from the trailer but it ain’t looking good so far 😕
I don’t feel like a tiny fragile thing intruding into a horrifying, dangerous world that exists with or without me scurrying around it. More like an empty stage that’s been set up for me to move across
Why is everything so empty? These chapters feel unfinished… I don’t think there’s even any music.
I’m on chapter 2 (out of 4 I think) and I feel like I’ve done very little but pass from one side of an empty room or vent to the other, easily bypassing a couple of random monsters without much tension
Playing Little Nightmares 3. I had the feeling the opening section was going on for ages and was wondering why they needed me to experience the same open vent/push button/pull open boarded up door mechanics so many times. Turns out I’m actually 25% of the way through the game 😕
Yesssss 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Do it anyway
(Alternatively do an animatic instead!)
So I think we’re on the same page but just why it’s important to be careful about wording, to allow for the broad range of reasons someone creating fiction/art might choose to explore various serious subject matter
Those are two different conversations and the reason why blanket bans on this kind of content are ultimately harmful.
Because it was a very widely agreed upon critique of GoT that those scenes were gratuitous and objectifying, but the subject matter isn’t the issue, rather the manner of depiction
I May Destroy You literally could not exist without them. It’s brilliant series that explores consent, boundaries and assault, based on the writer’s own personal experiences. See also Baby Reindeer.
The content may not be something everyone may want to approach, but they should still exist
