They should just include "excessive birthday parties" on the form.

They wouldn't autopsy a 90 year old in Ireland with multiple health issues, so it is possible her heart/ one of her aneurysms gave out first. She'd had recent heart attacks and strokes (and had cancer and dementia), but she had pneumonia when she died. Do they autopsy that demographic in Sweden?

I thought pneumonia was nailed on for the #1 spot over 85. My aunt (who had dementia) laughed when nurses told her to do X or she'd get pneumonia "I'm very old, odds are it will kill me anyway" (she was a long retired geriatric nurse, she was right, it did)

I cannot think of anyone less suited to being a whale than Timmy.

You're not wrong, he had serious road rage on his way to and from his parents earlier, and I'm not sure there were as many "f***ing petrol dollar guzzling Mancunian cheats" on the roads of North London as he imagined

Much appreciated. He's at his friend's house so we have peace and calm here

I considered that, but surely you'd keep the gold? If you can't afford a funeral you'd hardly bury the gold, it would be a waste.

I've just checked the '26 form. There's some quare goings on around ages (I knew my gran aunt Kate, she was born in 1899, she's listed as "23" when she was 26 or 27) but it says none of them speak Irish (my great grandparents are in their late 60s by this stage, my great great grandmother is gone).

Dunno, but that would fit the time line. My great great grandmother was 76 in 1901 (born 1825 so pre famine) whereas my great grandparents were 40 (1861) so post. This is outside Louisburg so peak famine territory.

In 1901 my Mayo grandad lived with his parents and granny. The census said Granny spoke only Irish, parents spoke both, children spoke only English. That's hardly credible given they were idk 4-15 and lived with their granny who spoke no English.

They're definitely burial mounds? Not just compost heaps that got out of hand?

They played Sometimes and Laid. All is well with the world.

A new song in the encore when you haven't played Curse Curse, Laid or She's a Star? The average attendee is late 40s, it's approaching our bed time. Come on now Tim....

Wait, did they get naming rights as part of the agreement?

Unless and until Israel breaches* the ceasefire

*presumably as adjudicated by Iran, not by the US

They obviously hadn't sampled the limited alternatives to Black Tower or Blue Nun available in Ireland at the time. Obviously the French Department smuggled their wines back on the ferry - under a fortnight's worth of laundry.

I fear that a Kir would definitely be "woke". Maybe a Snakebite and Black would suit Pete's military? I can't see a Snakebite & Black being considered woke. (As an aside, the step daughter is almost finished first year and hasn't come across them, what is the world coming to?)

I think that's vitamin A for the eyesight. Vitamin C is to prevent scurvy, the plague of sailors. Of course you're right though, there could be a pint glass of Ribena or Liga C just out if shot, you'd need something to wash that meal down with.

Are carrots as rich in vitamin c as limes?

Her son RTd it at the time so I assume she saw it then

I initially read that as "ratings" and thought "FFS even Sean is now buying into the idea Leo is trying to influence the US mid terms" .

Doesn't it depend if the medical is job related? We should probably rewatch the early seasons of the West Wing for details and analysis.

Pope Leo’s attitude to the Iran war is shocking Leo XIV appears to ignore the murderous history of the Tehran regime in his call for peace

Surely the Pope will have to reconsider now that he has lost Melanie Phillips

It's not just social media though, it's a huge difference between Ireland and England. Many English 75 year olds wear rose tinted glasses, no Irish 75 year olds do, my parents leave their grandkids in no doubt that hunger and poverty a) were real and b) weren't good.

You're saying Donnie has a point backed up with crime stats (and presumably a small police force commensurate to the population not the visitors)? cc @shadow.hedgie.social

So I'd consider that "soft on crime" in the Vatican, even though their involvement was more conspiracy/ perverting the course of justice in relation to crimes committed elsewhere

Iirc the Vatican has documents, previously belonging to the Dublin Arch Diocese, which they refused to make available to the Irish authorities, suggesting some of the cover up was orchestrated from, and occurring in, the Vatican.

Historical child abuse too, but I haven't read anything implicating him in being soft on it (unlike certain predecessors)
