Y’all could have always reached out 😅😅😅🙈🤣 in my Marxist analysis solidarity involves direct communication with the organizers & community you’re standing in solidarity with. Unless the goal is to simply co-opt an event … but maybe that’s just me.

It is happening now. There won’t be an easy to access transcript unless you are a paid member of PACER.

Listening to the Talbot v. Trump Injunction Hearing - the transgender military ban case. Judge Reyes is not here for the DOJ showing up completely unprepared to answer any questions. It’s an appalling failure on DOJs part - 10,000 peoples jobs are on the line.

8 U.S. Code § 1227 - Deportable aliens

Honestly this is the part of this that is pretty fucked up if you read the actual statute - short a clear “crime” with conviction, a compelling diplomatic reason (which isn’t really used)… it’s all extremely suspicious 🤨 www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/...

The revocation of both green cards and visas often references and hinges upon “would have been denied admission into the USA.” It’s an odd turn of phrase, but largely is because these laws started by assuming people must have lied or concealed facts to enter the USA to begin with.

Abandoning trans people is 'fascist logic', says leading feminist philosopher Leading feminist philosopher Judith Butler has declared that abandoning trans people or any minority is operating within 'fascist logic'.

“Once you decide that a single vulnerable minority can be sacrificed, you’re operating within a fascist logic,” they said. “That means there might be a second one you’re willing to sacrifice and a third, a fourth. Then what happens?”

Yes. If DHS can barge in, say your visa was revoked, be told you have a green card, say it's revoked too, and then disappear you so that neither your lawyer nor your family can find you, then all the guardrails are gone. There is no policy, practice, or law protecting anyone.

🇺🇦🇺🇸 JD Vance’s cousin fought for over two years in Ukraine as part of the "Da Vinci Wolves."

"JD is smart, but what they did to Zelensky was a dishonest ambush. Being relatives doesn’t mean I’ll accept him aiding in the killing of my comrades."

My comment is to remind the public, the soldiers asked to implement these illegal orders, and commanders who have a moral and legal obligation to disobey illegal orders in violation of law.

As a reminder: using military bases to detain people is a violation of the Geneva convention, limits the access of the Red Cross and other agencies to oversee conditions and restricts the access to lawyers. It’s an appalling suggestion. These camps could be used to disappear people. Fuck no.

Thank you so much for your work on this!! It is such a huge relief and Washingtonians thank you!! The obsession and fetish of the right with trans people’s lives, medical care and bodies is a sickness and they need help.

Donald Trump signs executive order to block transgender athletes from women’s sports "With this executive order, the war on women's sports is over," Trump said from the East Room of the White House.

“In December, NCAA president Charlie Baker said during a congressional hearing in Washington that he believed there were fewer than 10 transgender athletes among the 510,000 competing at schools across all three divisions.” www.nytimes.com/athletic/611...

Literally the most pressing thing: Presidential orders segregating 10 trans women out of 510,000 NCAA athletes. But don’t worry - they will now refuse any trans athlete entry into the USA. Every day it’s more absurd and draconian.

As we all know: it’s very in to 💩 all over trans people these days. Glad to see he’s swinging par for the course. I’m certain Trans people in pierce county can now have confidence they will be supported when victims of crime. Appalling and deplorable.

It has been a lot of early mornings and late nights for me. So much is happening in Trans Justice land. Looking forward to sharing exciting news this week. Responses to tyranny can take time.

Doing our best. Browns office has been working diligently on many fronts and I think this will be as nasty a surprise for them as it was for us. People should keep pushing - they are violating the WLAD. It’s illegal. We won’t tolerate it.

You’re too kind. I am so busy these days and I find social media to be essentially useless. It’s yelling into the darkness. I am much more focused on policies change, impact litigation, and supporting people one on one.

The level of witch hunt / moral panic insanity against trans people is still at “satanic panic” levels. Fuck every person who attacked this patriots reputation and competence - you hapless losers.

A terrifying breach of public trust - corruption in government and interference that is clearly illegal. Except, the Justice Department is captured so no prosecutions will happen.

This chart data specially is for Texas, but it reflects the trend across the whole country. The crime perpetrator rate of undocumented people is HALF that of US Citizens.

Given all the bullshit we are hearing this week - a reminder of US Department of Justice statistics prove: Undocumented people have the lowest crime rate based on immigration status. nij.ojp.gov/topics/artic...

It honestly helps my heart to read the “classics” of LGBT history - novels, essays, zines … and to reflect that even repressive autocrats can’t stop our fabulousness and joy.

I’m also reminding myself of and reading a lot of history! As a trans person I’m also just reminding myself: This is a return to where things were in 2000 - 2010, we survived and thrived then too. This (dipshit) too shall pass!

@erininthemorning.com Just want to refer you to my 2018 spat with the lady Trump Administration as a cautionary tale for people. Failure to disclose your name or sex at birth - yes, even if there’s no line on the form can be very very bad! www.seattleweekly.com/news/danni-a...

100%!!! We’re going to be there for each other! I’m really proud of the dozens of mutual aide programs we have created for ourselves in these last 10 years.Even with all the bs - our community is so much bigger, stronger and vibrant than the late 90s! We will never go away. :-)

100% … I’m just like living in existential terror of people in our community who are feeling so helpless right now.. and so so so worried about people’s mental health and safety this week! But I love the fierce emotion in this sentiment!

That’s all to say: we fight like fucking hell and burn it the fuck down — but I want to externalize our rage and resistance and avoid people turning inward and feeling hopelessness, shame, or despair when the states used its power to oppress us. If that makes sense.

Anything that reifies the psychological “either care /or die” - in a moment when we’re being attacked, healthcare is being taken away, and many people feel powerless to stop that reality feels like we’re setting people up for failure. Again: I get the sentiment, but how does a 14 year old in TX feel
