The tablets include receipts for both "high quality beer" and "ordinary beer."
Counting that as advertising, cuz this is cool and I wanna share it.

ICE in Chicago this morning at Elston and Kennicott—a masked agent tells a witness (on the sidewalk) not to get in front of his car.
Feds are continuing kidnappings across the city & burbs after increased activity this month.
No flashy CBP caravans, just a steady stream of covert ICE arrests.

This is the karmic reversal of the black cat at Shea incident in 1969. Presages Cubs winning it all.

You ever try to code switch at work and fail? 😂
Texas redistricts without a vote, Republicans cheer.
Dems in Virginia respond by putting it UP FOR A VOTE OF THE PEOPLE, it passes, Republican cry foul.
Oh well. Good job Virginia!!
Me: Isn't this great?
Democrats: Hell yeah. We didn't know we were supposed to fight back
Me: I know. I know...
Oh, also: every Cubs game story or column had to include a parenthetical full disclosure about Trib owning the team. And White Sox fans had endless ammunition for their “the media is biased against us!” nonsense.
It was pre-Zell. Zell bought Tribune and its properties, then tried to sell team separate from Wrigley Field. Old school Trib ownership was clueless, but not actively evil.
The implicit media consensus is that urban voters should not be able to overrule rural voters, but that rural voters should be able to overrule urban voters, an assumption so axiomatic and unquestionable that nobody even understands they're making it.
Starting a mid-decade redistricting war only to end up with -1 seats is the same fine strategic genius and subtle grasp of game theory that brough us the Strait of Hormuz.
If Republicans hate the CA and VA redistricting, they can thank the person responsible - Donald J. Trump.
None of it would’ve been possible without his leadership on this issue.
We’re actively rooting for him to be traded. Just not to the Jays, because he’d try to annex the place.
Also no colas or other caffeinated beverages.

Jealous.
"I was ABSOLUTELY told that the Democrats would be bringing knives to the gun fight. What the fuck are they doing bringing guns?" --a whole lot of Republicans looking at the results from Virginia right now
Well, the Cubs have a Nazi hobbit who left the team last year to go to Charlie Kirk’s “funeral”/MAGA rally, so I can relate.
I would submit that a gerrymander by politicians saying fuck the voters and one by voters saying fuck the politicians are two wholly different animals
That's disrespectful to a rat. His name is Matt Shaw.

The Spanish flu, despite its name, began in Camp Funston, Kansas in 1918.
American troops spread it to the world on ships headed to Brest, France.

Estimates show the 1918 flu epidemic killed about 45,000 US soldiers, about 38% of the total US military deaths in WWI. The flu and its secondary illnesses made up the majority of death by disease. Thousands (possibly as many as 36,000) died before making it from basic training to the battlefield.
