Mockingbirds are assholes also because they will dive-bomb you and your pets if they have a nest nearby. We had one in our holly tree in front of our house and that one summer they’d actually peck at the dog and swoop at our heads (and at all passers-by).

I guarantee it’s the same resident who also harasses the ACS members for our Tuesday night choir practices. We’ve had to send out illustrated maps of where to park and not park because the resident made a huge stink with the church. This has been going on for years and years. Ugh.

There is a lot of discourse about the White House Correspondents Association dinner coming up. As a grad student recipient of a WHCA scholarship, I want to remind everyone that a big goal of the dinner is to raise funds for said scholarships. Celebrity and politics have clouded this intent.

We use A Lot of Mugs in my Revels shows, and we’re always singing and sloshing them around. We get stage direction to remember that they’re supposed to be full, but everyone forgets when we get rowdy in song and the air-beer just goes flying. It’s basically tradition now.
