A spread from Gender Queer: The Annotated Edition, a large coffee table size book, held open in front a background of green leaves. The book is so heavy it's rather hard to hold to up with one hand.

Ai remix feature in privacy settings on TikTok turned on
I am so upset right now, TikTok quietly added a feature which turns on an AI feature on all the TikTok’s you have already posted to allow Ai to remix and make content of your TikTok’s and I didn’t know, you must go to privacy settings on your TikToks to turn it off yourself, want to warn others 💔
Sam grinning and holding up a copy of Rabbit Test and Other Stories

VERY COOL PERSON: It's four-twenty, you know what that means?
ME: Hell yeah! [starts shoving blackbirds into a pie]
(I♥NY, but not its weather.)
"A lot of the inhabitants of NY will honk on mightily about the pleasures of spring, but if they actually knew the first thing about the pleasures of spring they would know of at least 5,983 better places to spend it than NY, and that's just on the same latitude." —Mostly Harmless, by Douglas Adams
Book cover for Bat and the Case of the Yips, by Elana K. Arnold, with pictures by Charles Santoso. He and a friend are in baseball gear; he's holding his skunk in his mitt.
Wait, no, 2025 was last year, this came out fourteen months ago, there's a FIFTH installment out now!
Book cover for Bat and the Business of Ferrets, by Elana K. Arnold, with pictures by Charles Santoso. Bixby Alexander Tam is on the left, with a skunk draped across his shoulders and a white ferret on his head. On the right is his classmate Lucca, frowning, with her arms crossed. They're giving each other side-eye.
I discovered this weekend that there's a fourth book out in Elana K. Arnold's Bat series, featuring an autistic kid with a special interest in animals, and it's as good as the first three. 😊
(Apparently it came out two months ago, but I don't work for Scholastic anymore, I'm out of the loop!)
Oops!
I almost mixed up 5 and 3 but caught myself in time. 😅

Just a thought: How about we stop shaming the poor for buying things that may not be essential, and start shaming the rich for making a profit off things that are essential?
Aww!

a surprisingly complicated question! @amyhoy.bsky.social went on a deep dive on this subject 3 years ago. the short answer is: it is the original ad that became an internet meme, but it was originally a late-1800s meme itself, taken from a photograph
see her post amyhoy.com/the-origin-o...
Hegseth saying “The Pharisee Press” should be a fully mask off moment. He is saying “The Jewish Press”. But Christians of all political stripes are so devoted to using Pharisees as a rhetorical prop that liberal Christians regularly insist it’s totally fine, no matter how many Jews try to explain.

You can still watch all the shows from our trans comedy festival, they are filmed real good-like, and also we need a little money so we'd love for you to donate to get the playlist link!

Using they/them to refer to a trans woman whose pronouns are she/her is transphobic.
My patience is diminishing and my blocklist is growing.
(One reason I wrote this was that, as a comedy musician, I tended to be afraid of repeating myself in a song, tweaking choruses on each iteration, for fear of boring the audience. This is honestly a useful concern to have, but it can be taken too far? I decided to try the other extreme.)

Recent activity on my band account reminds me that I'm not sure I've mentioned my song consisting of three linguistics example sentences on this account, the one followed by a lot of linguists. 😅
Please enjoy "Buffalo Buffalo Buffalo Buffalo Buffalo Buffalo Buffalo."
@siniful.bsky.social Would you have any advice on dress norms for grownups at a BTS concert?
I went looking in the first place because search seemed to be on the fritz, but it looks like that's also functional now.
(Ironically, this is my second run at this post; I deleted the first after finding an error in the alt text. I am not working properly in all reginos myself.)
The current page at status.bsky.app, apparently operated by "UptimeRobot," says: Warning This Status Page has been suspended. Please contact support@uptimerobot.com for further information.
Chat, is it a bad sign when the Bluesky status page goes down?
Aww! But understandable!
