5 waxwings still at 160 Dundee Street, Fountain Park.
Near the Murrayfield hospital perimeter fence a brown “bullet” passed over my shoulder and exploded in a shower of feathers into the wire mesh. A song thrush, swiftly followed by a female sparrowhawk which perched on a fence post a few feet away waiting for me to leave the scene.

Glossy Ibis at Angle Park still. Seen at 2pm at the tall reeds at E end before flying to its favoured SW corner. Great White Egret still. 25/10
The Kingdom comes up trumps.
Glossy Ibis at Angle Park proved elusive for an hour and more but finally was spotted near the tall reeds at E end before flying to the SW end. Great White Egret very visible throughout.
No luck with Glossy Ibis yesterday at Seafield Pond, West Barns. Arrived at 11am. At Barns Ness a flock of c 150 Golden Plover lifted my spirits. Looking for YB Warbler, the Siberian Chiffchaff kept popping up! Them’s the breaks!
Thank you for your help with the Spotted Redshanks. We got to the correct hide after your second prompt.
