We did this last summer with kids 4/6. Antwerp was a surprise favorite, as was Ghent. Ghent hotel The Post was great, and the city has a very well-done scavenger hunt on an app that was a huge hit. Bruges was lovely but very crowded. We loved Efteling. Van Gogh/Mouse House/Art Zoo in AMS all hits.

When 13.6 million Americans lose their Medicaid and can only go to the emergency room because they have no other options to access healthcare, who’s paying for it? The American taxpayer.

autistic lives are beautiful and worth living on their own terms and if you require a demonstration of relatability from someone to determine that are a human being who deserves to live a rich and full life, it is you who is the monster

The problem with allowing guns everywhere is that no one is safe anywhere.

The “problem” with vaccines? They so effective at preventing deaths that they create generations of people that question whether disease was a problem in the first place because they have never experienced the horrors of a world without vaccines.

The hypocrisy would be astounding if it weren’t so clearly by design.

“wellness” culture feeds directly into eugenics.

It perpetuates the idea that disability is a moral failing.

That we can “try harder” our way out of it and if we can’t, we didn’t really “want” to get better.

It makes it easier to punish the sick & poor.

Disability is not a moral failing.

when RFK says he wants to “end chronic disease,” what people hear is “he wants to cure us” but what he means is “i want to cull the weak”

In 2010, the Supreme Court decided the Second Amendment applies to state and local governments, allowing states to enact more permissive gun laws.

Since then, there have been 6,000+ excess firearm deaths among children in states with the most permissive gun laws, according to a new study.

do you ever stare at the ceiling and think about how the worldwide scientific establishment did the impossible and created a COVID vaccine in under a year and the response of the general public has been to go on an unstoppable rampage to destroy science and scientists

Major shoutout to local National Weather Service offices who have issued literally hundreds and hundreds of tornado / severe thunderstorm / flood warnings in just the past 36 hours alone. Most offices are doing this amid staff shortages.

SPC / WPC teams doing amazing work, too.

Scientists matter.

I think most people are intuitively aware of this but something like the official White House account posting an “ASMR” video of shackled immigrants is not just cruel for its own sake, it’s intentional envelope-pushing to ramp up to desensitization over inhumane detention, camps, and deaths

A survey by the Commonwealth Fund reveals that 40% of U.S. physicians acknowledge racial discrimination in healthcare, with half reporting that patients have shared similar experiences, highlighting significant racial inequities and the need for systemic reforms.

As a science advocate, something I hear a lot is that people think government would be better if there were more scientists and physicians elected to Congress. Senator Bill Cassidy's cowardice in voting for RFK Jr, show us that expertise is useless if you have no morals.

I'm trying to save them.

You can find the deleted docs at cdcguidelines.com - I'll be adding more over the weekend.

I am enraged by the media, doctors, and politicians who are sane washing RFK Jr and claiming some common ground. Common ground only exists when there are genuinely good intentions, but anti science grifters are not presenting good faith arguments. There is no common ground, only a slippery slope.

Faith plays a role imo. Evangelicals believe “when it’s my time, it’s my time (decided by God)” and nothing you can do to stop it. Plus vax are an “answer” to the chronic disease epidemic-something to blame instead of supporting govt/ social improvements that would improve health.

12 years since Sandy Hook, and this remains a “fact of life.” Truly disgusting.

1 year ago 1 0 0 0

Today, we hold the victims of the Sandy Hook shooting and their families in our hearts.

It's been 12 years. The scourge of gun violence is still horrific.

The Democratic Party must remain steadfast to our commitment to commonsense gun violence prevention—and protecting kids.
