Very curious about this. If you haven't paid attention, Blaze has kinda built the Evercade into a seriously viable little platform with a range of hardware and like 700 games all on carts. New games, emulation, ports etc and all at a low price. It's super cool stuff!
I went on the Video Game History Hour podcast with @unabandonware.bsky.social! It's a great overview of keitai game preservation, from the games to preservation challenges. I hope you enjoy! Thank you to @philsalv.bsky.social for having us on.

This is fascinating. Trip Hawkins gives Nintendo credit for "establishing the fact that consumers want interactive entertainment at home" while also criticizing them (to applause from the crowd) for having "rules that have to do with how they do business that some of us don't feel comfortable with."
Holy crap
That's 21 _hours_ of talks from the 1989 GDC. What an incredible gold mine
Okay you HAVE to listen to this, at about 9 minutes they’re talking about Tetris as a competitor and how it was controversial, speaker calls it “The first true communist entertainment software”
Thank you for this gift
i haven’t been playing a lot of games i can use for #ScanlineSunday, but i’ve been looking at a lot of 90s Japanese art books, so how about
Galaxy Fraulein Yuna: Mika Akitaka IllustWorks, Vol. 1 (Saturn, 1996), 240p YPbPr, Sony PVM-20L5

for a special #ScanlineSunday, i wanted to show off my obsession for the last week: PlayStation Broadband Navigator (PSBBN), by @cosmicscale.bsky.social and other talented folks! It’s a must-have for your PS2 HDD/SSD
PSBBN Definitive Project v4.10 (PS2, 2026), 480i YPbPr, Sony PVM-20L5

RIP to Jesse Jackson. His funeral is today. I wanted to share this clip from his appearance on Sesame Street in 1971. His important words ring just as true today as they did back then.

watching you dildo brain cock suckers play w/ AI shit is like watching a dog paw at one of those puzzle boxes that you put treats inside of
Calling AI "slop" has been one of the most effective instances of the public rebranding a product and it pisses them off.
Supernote spotted!
I've been loving my viwoods mini but the manta is calling to me for a bigger writing surface. How do you like it?
📆 ON THIS DAY in 2006 • 20 years ago! 😮 @8bitpeoples.bsky.social releases Information Chase, 6 mp3s of chiptune powerpop. It's since come out on CD & vinyl, & I've performed its songs to audiences who have loudly sung along, despite there being no words. What could be more heartwarming than that? 🙏
Still got my vinyl!
Informatin Chase was one of, if not the first chiptune album I purchased. I still play it regularly.
Raytheon Executive: I know you’re skeptical about buying American again. But hear me out. The MIM-104 Patriot is the only surface to air missile system with a proven track record of success against the US Air Force.
Danish Defense Minister: Continue.

TEAMSPEAK. YOUR TEAM. YOUR SERVER. WE DON'T CARE. Use crystal clear sound to communicate with your team mates cross-platform with military-grade security, lag-free performance & unparalleled reliability and uptime. Y'know. As long as you're the one hosting it. [FREE* Download]
Ventrilo 4.0 is the next evolutionary step of Voice over IP (VoIP) group communications software. Ventrilo is also the industry standard by which all others attempted to emulate, like, ten years ago. The fact that you're here on this website at all is amazing, to us. We thought you'd forgotten about us back when you started college. We thought we'd never see you again. And now you're back in our life and we're not sure if we should cry or give you a great big hug. Ventrilo was best known for its superior sound quality and minimal use of CPU resources so as not to interfere with normal operations of the computer or during online game competitions. Maybe your computer's good enough these days that this isn't an attractive prospect anymore. I mean, we're not judging, but somehow, we don't think running the entire program in a stripped-back web browser is the most efficient thing in the world. Ventrilo uses a client-server based connection that is always encrypted. User data is never collected or stored, hence it can not be shared/sold to external entities. All text-chat communications/audio-recordings are stored locally on the Client computer. Maybe that's our new selling point. We didn't really expect it was going to be that hard, not to steal people's data and sell it to advertisers, but we suppose *SOME PEOPLE* couldn't help themselves. We're better than that.
ICQ - stay connected ...Hello? Oh. Oh my God it's you. Hello?! What year is it? D-do you have some food? Please? Is the world...OK, out there? We've been down here for so long...
TEAMBEAK. IT'S FOR THE BIRDS. Say goodbye to hunt-and-peck, with our new crystal clear sound that transmits your song to other birds, lag-free.
Let's see how the rest of the online group chat world is faring out there...
Possibly yeah, I’ve brought it along for the past few years
Nintendo zone distribution box. It’s just half of a dsi. They ran Nintendo zone hotspots in places like Best Buy
It’s an enigma
So like, I bring the dev stuff and one time years ago there were Nintendo reps giving out like stickers and shit or something, but at some point I saw them in the museum looking at my devkits, visibly confused by the things labeled “confidential property of Nintendo” sitting in an illuminated case
