Thanks! Yes, I had the zip, I just wanted to know where to find the original source

Hi, I was looking at your AirBnB chart/code. Is there a source for AirBnB datasets? I dont see any mentioned in your code and was wondering if I could get more AirBnB data

Hello #dataBS (& especially #TidyTuesday) fam! I'm trying to organize a thing to help me keep TidyTuesday running smoothly, but first I need to get a bit of a runway. Every week I curate a TT dataset, and it's wearing me down. Please see github.com/rfordatascie... for some ways you can help! #RStats

In addition to Maloney, Kelly and Foecke, I thought that Annika Albrecht and Sydney Townsend also had two rings, am I wrong?

I now also have a (work in progress) list of #DataViz specific resources as well!

Link: nrennie.rbind.io/data-viz-res...

You can find links to tools, papers, books, blogs, and websites that are related to data visualisation. I'll be adding more resources soon 📊

I dont think any of us thought of it as spamming!
Is that one of the @dslc.io‬ book clubs? They look so good and I am always wanting to join them but so far I havent found the time.

Well, I must say I hadn't seen this before. This conversation has turned out to be very educative. I can see a visualization that 1st shows the whole plot, and then a close up like this one. Thanks for the pic.

Timeline of TennisAbstract court speed ratings in matches between Sinner and Alcaraz

Timeline of TennisAbstract court speed ratings in matches between Sinner and Alcaraz

The last five matches between Sinner and Alcaraz have all been played in slower-than-average conditions. This is relevant when discussing Alcaraz's 4-1 advantage in this period. Of course, that's not to say Alcaraz can't and won't beat Sinner in faster conditions (he already has)

Osijek 0-2 Dinamo: Spatial Occupation/Utilisation and the Path Forward The opening round of the HNL witnessed two divergent approaches to two burgeoning projects.

I made a space to constructively write on football/test data things that interest me, instead of spamming threads.

So, here's ≈1500 words on Osijek-Dinamo, Luka Vrbančić, the HNL and the important distinction between occupying space and actually utilising it.

Thanks! The cream makes for a wonderful background color in contrast with the black and the scarlet. Also Daniel Heikkinen's Nebraska font looks pretty good. www.dafont.com/daniel-heikk...

the scoring opportunities for the pins, and most of the point will always come for the pins. But, do teams with more active MBs win more and more importantly win championships? Is this accepted "wisdom" correct? I think that could be the topic of a much more interesting chart in the future 😀

8 months ago 1 0 1 0

but to show that is is *more* for the Spring matches with the new coach than at any point in the previous season. How much more? Doesn't really matter, there is no set number in volleyball for this strategy to be effective. It is a common belief that if the MBs get more sets, this will increase +

So thinking more about this, I guess I could add grid lines to make it easier to see how much the black bars have changed. I could also include the % number inside each bar. The point of the vizualization however was not emphasize if the attack % has increased or decrease a few % points+

Thanks for the comment. Now that you mention it, I don't think I have seen any bar plot zoomed-in.

Hi. Sorry moving day for my son and I am "helping"--but I would take a look at this later today and try different settings. But take a look at the code if you can and play with it.

Hi. Not sure what you mean. y-axis start at 0 and goes to 100 (I guess it could go to 80, if one wants), but it is fixed and cannot change over time. the x-axis is the dates and those cover only the time period corresponding to the regular volleyball season. Not sure this answers your question.

This week #TidyTuesday explores the income inequality before and after taxes. I created line charts with a shaded area and small multiples within a mosaic layout. I used only a subset of the processed data where both coefficients were available.

I feel I should clarify that this is not the the % of kills (points) produced by position. We are instead looking at how frequently the diff positions are set to attack by the Nebraska setters.

The NCAA volleyball season is going to start in a couple of weeks. And the Nebraska media (@volleyballpod.bsky.social) is making a big deal of how much more the new coach is going to be using the middle blockers, so instead of a TidyTuesday viz, here is a look at the Nebraska's attack %

Did shows on Netflix get longer with time? Not really but interestingly they cap at 60 hours with very few longer shows.

I also think it would be interesting to see the IMDB rating for global and non-global releases...because it is my feeling that most global releases are not highly regarded movies....at tleast the mean of their ratings is prob very low (just from looking at the titles)

I should really consider stuff like that for the next time. The 3 peaks from left to right are:
Miraculous: Ladybug & Cat Noir, The Movie, The Abyss // Avgrunden, Don't Move
