he was so frail and sickly the past few months but over the weekend he hit a point where he couldn't find joy in even his favourite thing (cuddles with me) anymore. his purr was quieter than a murmur. i knew he was trusting me to understand he wanted to rest. and i listened. but it hurts so much.
i've not stopped crying for the past week i'm ngl. since he passed i've been crying several times an hour. i know i did the right thing and i would do it again in a heartbeat but i feel his absence so strongly. we spent 20 years together, we met when i was 11.

even when he was pissing and shitting and vomiting everywhere due to various medical conditions over the years, he always, ALWAYS found comfort with me. that he couldn't do so over this past weekend shows it wasn't about being sick. he wanted to go, and i just had to let him.
he was anxious and scared at the vets, but he never fought them, never scratched anyone or bit anyone. he was so excited by new people, it didn't even cross his mind that someone could be cruel to him. i gave him 20 years of that. 💕
shika and i first met when he was a weeks-old kitten and he was the only one of the litter hiding scared under a chair, and he spent the rest of his life so secure in his being loved that he greeted everyone face-on and was never scared of any stranger ever again

most of our main characters from 1.0 to 3.0 came from ala mhigo or had their fates/families tied up in ala mhigo and most of the plotlines in those patches related to ala mhigo in some way but that STILL wasn't enough for the fanbase to give a shit. still im glad it was there tho.....
i don't think they ever would tbh.......it's the location with THE most lore and story content dedicated to it in the entire game & it's several core driving plotlines for 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, AND ofc 4.0..........but ppl still refused to pay any attention and they even stan the one-expac wonders harder 😭

we live in an age of astonishing abundance for gamers, where a) games are often cheaper than the 1990s in *absolute* terms, b) games are *always* cheaper than the 1990s in inflation-adjusted terms, c) games are regularly given away for free, put on a pass, or otherwise made very cheap on sale.
The thing that gets me is that this kind of thing isn’t limited to Will, it’s something that I think every big account goes through. I’ve had my sister send me replies asking “aren’t you worried one of these people is going to do something to you?” for very low stakes opinions. Genuinely toxic.
