Less is more. So is more.
It. Will. Always. Been. There.
Last night, I saw the band Spafford perform at the Vivarium here in Milwaukee. It was incredible!
“Are you another of the wise men of the Wombflash Forest?”
I really enjoy the film Mother of Tears. For me, this movie does everything it has to do — and more. In an interview about the film, Dario Argento said, “Its purpose is to tell an absurd and unreal, outlandish tale. It’s also about the beauty and ugliness found within all human beings.”
“What were you looking for in the Machine-Halls, Freder?”
I just watched the 1931 German mystery thriller film M directed by Fritz Lang. I really liked it.
Just finished reading The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky. I enjoyed the tension between faith and intellectual skepticism. I understand why a lot of people think this book is a masterpiece of philosophy and psychology. It's a great story, but I am still an atheist.
Just finished attending MAICON in Cleveland, where the future of AI in marketing felt both inspiring and surprisingly human.
I just watched Rebecca. I really liked it.
I’ve been reading a lot of Dostoevsky and Kafka. That must be why the world seems so bleak and absurd.
What I wish for is a sequel to Dario Argento’s Phantom of the Opera. I love this film. Maybe Asia could direct it.
Are you the keymaster?
I saw Cosmic Charlie perform at Shank Hall here in Milwaukee on Saturday night. They are a Grateful Dead tribute band. It was a lot of fun! And, I taped the entire show. Check it out: archive.org/details/cosm...
Listening to …
I just rewatched this beauty. Clerks takes me back to another time and place.
I finally got around to watching Chinatown. Incredible.
I had the opportunity to see Bearly Dead perform at Shank Hall here in Milwaukee on Friday night. It was incredible! This was actually my second time seeing Bearly Dead. The first time was at Camp Creek back in 2022. I brought my audio recorder and taped the show. Listen: archive.org/details/BD20...
I would take Dracula. But I hope it is Mother of Tears.
“If you kept the small rules, you could break the big ones.”
Most movies would be improved with a Goblin score.
I saw an awesome Grateful Dead cover band called Another One perform yesterday during the Summer Soulstice Music Festival. I brought my audio recorder and taped the show. If you get an opportunity to see Another One, I encourage you to check them out! Here is my recording archive.org/details/anot...
Everybody’s gotta eat.
I just watched The Baby. Wow. That was wild. They don’t make them like that any more. youtu.be/vITUjvwnavc?...
Just realized it’s been 30 years since I graduated high school in Frederic, Wisconsin. Found this photo of me from my 1995 graduation party. The cake said, “Korre, you’re a winner.” Bold claim, cake. Bold claim.
You can’t boil the ocean, but you can try.
I just watched the 1972 Italian film A White Dress for Mariale directed by Romano Scavolini. It was really strange, just the way I like my movies.
Embrace your fate, good or bad.
