Do people genuinely *not know* that you don't need to host a git repository *at all*?
super metroid i *sorta* get because you literally fall slower in that than in future games but also you still get arbitrarily slowed down to 50% running speed in future games when you jump, which certainly reminds me of the way a balloon interacts with the air, so is metroid fusion floaty?
the only criticism of games i always dismiss out of hand is "floaty physics". i have no idea what people mean about this like 99% of the time. what do you mean super mario 64 has floaty physics? literally what does that mean, what specific feel are you conveying with "floaty"
i was curious and decided to actually look up who he was and the first result repeatedly mentioned thinking he was zach galifianakis, which is insane given this gif has the strongest '70s energy i've ever gotten from anything i've ever seen
there really isn't one, and I actually do think it's really easy to draw a line between generative slop and what's essentially just The Latest Iteration Of Big Data
GOD
i turned on the notifs for our "questions" channel because i realized a lot of people will experience flagrant horrible bugs and go "how do i work around this" instead of reporting it or, worse, just silently do crazy stuff as if that's what the intent is
How do you transform the index into a region on the texture? When I last tried this I just gave up and made a texture atlas for every specific texture size...
i made a video about this in like 2016 i think we're ready for it
turns out it WAS true, the best game dev advice actually was to spend 6 years making a 100+ hour RPG with infinite variety
"how taxes work" is my favorite "thing they don't teach in school" because they absolutely do, they just call it "algebra"
believe it or not, i agree with this, which is why i used the phrasing. like they think it's actually Important that geno be in smash, which is silly
it's not even that, i think it's actually the same thing that makes people think geno is worth being in smash or banjo-kazooie was highly influential and important to the present day
deeply bothered that i know its name off the top of my head. i think this is residual trauma from the time i was playing geoguessr and ended up in a french gym with no way to leave (had french phone numbers even) and it was in réunion
i think the animal crossing thing is understated lol it just absolutely one-shot some people so badly in such a bizarre way. i'm not even sure what about it made it unique besides covid forcing people to actually notice others playing it. the sims was mainstream enough in ~2000!
everything it'll cost you is going to them, eventually, no? i'm not sure this is effective resistance, and not in a nitpicky way but in a "you might genuinely be doing what they want" way
Google search; typed into the search box is "putnam dwarf". Suggestions are "putnam dwarf fortress", "putnam dwarf fortress trans", "putnam dwarf fortress pronouns" and "ana putnam dwarf fortress".
based on google suggestions for me i think i'm slacking on the visibility front
i started putting "these days" at the ends of sentences so much that i have to consciously make an effort not to
an interface showing a virtual brand called "Thai Food Near Me 4.9"
we have a ghost kitchen virtual brand called, uh,
the answer lies in the question
god i wish
you go through the source code and find interesting stuff like a label named "VunixMachine"
A Steam AI Generated Content Disclosure The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this: AI-generated voiceovers for ingame characters. This is a indie no-budget production. Sorry :-'(
I'm so sick of seeing AI disclaimers like this.
The solution to not having the budget for voice acting isn't to use AI, it's to not have voice acting at all!
Games don't need VO to be good!
By jamming in slopvoices, you're not making your game better, you're making it worse and reprehensible!
it's not really a debate. of course my position is that both are good but the best is the secret third thing that yume nikki has
i saw one recently. might be the same one. i got through like one sentence before immediately going "ah, they have a very strong opinion on the narrative vs gameplay debate and don't even know it's an opinion or that there's a debate, pass"
I kinda suspect it's just there to give you an incentive to catch their beloved weird fucked up guy
it's so funny people only noticed this with SF6. sorry y'all alex has been weird with his sister-cousin since he was supposed to be the mascot
To be clear, I'm working on a game that actually does just open a menu when you hit alt+f4 (Dwarf Fortress)
It's up to the developer to implement that properly. Games do not necessarily do this.
