Live Lounge in Cardiff.
Finding both of these in a bar from under £7 a dram was a very positive experience.
Cask strength, single cask, palo cortado matured, 16yo, Caol Ila.
What can go wrong?

My phone tells me it’s been a whole year since @billyabbott.co.uk and the Whisky Exchange came to Cardiff.
Come back soon!!
Easily. Well worth it if you’re ever in London at the right time
Ever wondered what a £75 Vintage Tasting gets you at Cadenhead’s in London?
It turns out to be eight great whiskies, all over 20 years in age, with a total bottle value of £3320.
I’d recommend it for the 25yo Ben Nevis and 29yo Springbank. But the £1000 29yo Ardbeg was also very, very good!
With that line up it’s a shame rugby doesn’t have 30mins of extra time
Don't be silly Ed. You're better than this.
Review #55: @LBDspirits Glentauchers 11yo
This is a feisty #whisky with an unusual finish which commands respect.

i may have a credit card she can't see for that....
Month three of the year and still haven't bought a bottle....
Review #54: Thompson Bros Caol Ila 10yo
You can't really go wrong with a Caol Ila. Especially one from

NEW #Whisky review: An Iconic Speyside [#Glenfarclas] from @dtcwhiskies Octave range.
I really liked this. And great value from @AberdeenShop

Finally got to call in at Milroy’s in Soho last night. Plenty of interesting choices behind the bar. I made myself the below mini flight and their 9yo Campbeltown was star of the show. It tasted like a nice mix of Glen Scotia and Longrow.
That’s my Burns Night done
logic checks out to me!
i can't say it has worked so far
Yeah. Also I have more than enough unopened whisky to last a year so by all rights I should not really be buying anyhow. It’s themed group tastings which get me buying given their limitations.
This is my third attempt
I suspect it will end up limiting me to about 8 based on average spend.
I'm not one for new year's resolutions. but i am reducing my whisky budget this year to £650. That should be fine. But history tells me it won't be.
Is anyone any better at sticking to whisky limits?

Happy 2026. My first review of the year is this 21yo Wee Mongrel from @LBDspirits. I loved it. Others didn't, but that's life...

A delightful single cask Arran from Douglas Laing review on the blog. I suspect this will be the last blog of the year. Enjoy

Just sorting the Christmas stash
New #whisky blog out today. It's the 100% ex-bourbon Springbank 18 [2024 edition].
This was one of the best whiskies of the year according to the @OnlineScotchWA. It's nice to have been able to try it.

Worth a try. Should be decent I think.
