I agree about the Dems completely. I agree the mission has to be to stop the GOP. To that end, I’m choosing to have respectful conversations with people who didn’t vote about why they should.

I think there are a large number of progressive people who feel betrayed by Democrats. Choosing the lesser of two evils hasn’t gotten them where they want or deserve to be. There are people on both sides who believe the system has to burn down so it can be rebuilt to work for all of us.

I cut off Trump supporters who are cruel, but a lot of them are just scared. Their fear has been weaponized against them. We’ve been pitted against each other. That’s how fascists win, they divide to conquer. I won’t be their pawn anymore. My anger is for them, not the people they want me to hate.

I agree with you. My point is that ridiculing people for not voting for Kamala isn't helpful. People have been lied to. They're confused. Truth is difficult for people to discern. I'm simply suggesting we'd have better luck getting them to listen to us if we didn't ridicule them.

Nobody is saying voter turnout wasn't part of the problem. My point is that spewing anger at voters who stayed home isn't a productive way to get them out to vote in '26 and '28. I'm suggesting it will keep them on the couch.

That's my point exactly. The margins improve when we direct our anger at the fascists. "Turns out when you can point to actual fascists and say 'this is the consequence' people vote against it." I agree completely. That works. Shaming people who sat out the last election doesn't.

I agree. They need to wake up. My suggestion is that kindness will help more than anger and ridicule. I did the anger thing for a very long time, so I get it. It just pushed people away from me though. They're much more open to what I have to say now that I lean into kindness.

There isn’t a clear answer to the question of who would be better yet. We tried with Harris and failed though. More power to her if she enters the primary, but she won’t win it. I’ll vote for whoever does no matter who it is. Not enough people feel that way. We need someone who unites and inspires.

I think the military is a great option as long as it’s a choice and not forced upon anyone. My husband served 4 years in the Navy. It gave us an amazing start in life, paid for his undergrad degree, and led to a lucrative career. We’ll need to clean house after Trump to restore order to it though.

And because the economy will worsen as AI eats up more and more entry level jobs, our sons will be even more safe from a draft.

Every branch of the military beat their recruitment goals in 2025. They’re on track to do it again in 2026. We have no reason to believe they’ll need to institute another draft, and they wouldn’t want our woke sons anyway.
