IPC [Feb 27] -- 18 years after Dems passed a law giving transgender Iowans civil rights protections, the state's Reps have passed a law repealing those rights, making it the first state to strip its citizens of such a broad swath of legal rights.

Donald Trump has just released a national under 18 trans care ban executive order. I am working through specifically how it tries to do this, and will live tweet here section by section as I read through it.

It is not yet on the website, but has been released via press release.

There’s so much in here that is just nonsense but it’s clear where this is heading. It will save no one, not one single cisgender life will be affected in any way. But it will mess with the lives of millions of trans, non-binary, and intersex people.

Weird that we have to say this, but the government doesn’t get to decide what gender a person is.
