I was very surprised the splits are so close when I saw the analysis last night, having read research on partisan geographical sorting.

Was prob not a surprise to the WI leg GOP, however.

This is a great side-by-side comparison from John Johnson at Marquette U. Upshots:

- It’s possible for a map to be contiguous, minimize splits, and have partisan balance (17-16 Senate, 50-49 Assembly)
- Governor Evers & Law Forward have some talented map-drawers
