My dad won a Breakthrough Prize last night for lifetime achievement in fundamental physics. “The Oscars of Science” - strangest event I’ve ever attended. Tech bro billionaires, celebrity performers and presenters, and scientists. But the main thing is I got a photo with my favorite actor!

ugh me too. I couldn’t read past her clipping his toenails.
Brilliant piece by @zalmanr.bsky.social about the terrifying prospect of parental religious beliefs trumping even basic public health.
BRAVO!!! Excellent piece.
Whoops! I mean your op-ed. I can read the Liptak piece
Congrats! Can you make it a gift article? I canceled my subscription because Bezos.
Puritan or patriarchal?
He doesn’t need to resign from Congress without a full investigation.
on the contrary, him getting out thins the field to 2 top Democratic contenders and makes it much more likely one survives to the second round. If he stays in wounded, very likely it’s 2 Republicans in final round. There are multiple credible accusations and he needs to drop out now.
And not dope in a good way
The clerks should!
Yes!! I noticed that too!! She was clearly not prepared a couple of times on the relevant case law but this was the worst. Reprimand to her clerks!
Pre-ordering now!
I was today years old when I actually watched Afroman’s videos. hilarious!
Thanks to @acslaw.bsky.social and @cooke-m.bsky.social for organizing!
Fabulous conversation today with @jamellebouie.net and my wonderful colleague Alexander Arnold.
He's going to fall asleep inside ten minutes
The downside has been when I export to word, make any changes and try to import back (like right now an RA is working on footnotes), it messes up the footnote format on the way back. This might be a Mac problem.
Well, I don’t know if I have the best advice - I definitely haven’t figured out all of the features and don’t use it to its fullest capacity. the main thing for me is the ease of moving sections and chapters around in one whole, and associating them with the related sources.
My innovation for the current book project was to use Scrivener, so now all my sources, primary and secondary, are linked to the chapter they’re related to as I write. Super useful as I am revising now.
Me too!! This literally changed my life. I can’t believe I did it the other way. now I leave the archives with pdf’s named as the exact document I looked at, with all the citation info embedded already. Amazing.
it’s so many people who are like, what’s the point? if it’s not a general strike, or if it doesn’t have (my) single simple message — although “No Kings” seems like a simple message to me! — then it’s just a feel-good pointless exercise, that is somehow keeping us from having the Real Revolution.
…antiracist work, and writing the histories of slavery, Reconstruction, and indigenous dispossession that Trump wants to erase. We do all this AND we come out in the streets with several million other Americans to say F— ICE, F— Trump, and Power to the People. 🌈 ✊
…organizing resistance to the attack on DEI, on universities and other civil society institutions, and to the weaponization of antisemitism; writing op-ed’s and speaking in public about the war on Iran and the devastation of Gaza; and also doing their day jobs in housing, legal aid…2/
I mean OF COURSE this isn’t the only thing we should be doing. My friends and colleagues are filing cases, writing briefs, giving aid to immigrants afraid to leave their houses, following and documenting ICE, organizing for unions and House candidates, being immigration court observers…1/
we had the same sign!
I love penguins.
Stephen Miller is really the poster child for this.
So nice to see a dean lifting up her colleague’s work. Almost like she still reads and engages with scholarship. 🩷
