My work focuses on building equitable infrastructures: from creating multilingual news datasets that include developing countries to examining biases in large language models that disadvantage non-Western languages.

In the article, I surveyed the pioneering works that used computational methods to address questions about nations and nationalism, and also propose a framework for future work to follow.

Given Brexit, declining student numbers, and the resulting financial crisis, we knew this was going to happen; without sufficient funding, universities have to cut cost. Still, hearing it firsthand from people I know was sobering.
Last Wednesday, I had the opportunity to speak in a webinar for a group of colleagues from the UK. About ten people attended, and two of them shared that they had recently been laid off.

The goal of the study is to write a guideline for best practices in using generative AI in research based on the consensus among the field (if any).
A few ASCoR colleagues and I are conducting a study on the usage and perception of generative AI in research among communication scholars (broadly construed) and the best practices to minimizing the risks of such use.
