And unfortunately...not a single one of you...will leave this place alive." As he's finishing his sentence, Siru suddenly rushes in for a bite, but gets ZAPPED in the mouth by electricity and repelled. Ukko: "Without her, you are nothing!" Emilia, thinking: "Siru!!! Not yet!!!" Malin has a desperate look in her eyes, but then notices an axe standing on a nearby tree stump.

BZZ, BZZ, the old man is still on his back, but is able to speak, albeit somewhat confusingly: "...Urgh... Drowzyy... One more shot, with a water back...!" Three syringes are sticking out of his stomach, they were thrown by Emilia in the previous page. Emilia, thinking, while pumping: "I pierced him this time, but didn't knock him out...! MONSTER!!"

Emilia swiftly lays Dande on her back and simultaneously throws something at the old man, whose body is once again surrounded by an aura of lightning. Emilia sprays something on Dande's burnt stomach as Malin watches in shock. Emilia: "DO NOT GIVE UP...UNTIL THE END!!!"

Emilia simply looks back at her, silently, then looks at the old man laying on the ground, then back at Dande. Her expression is sad and on the verge of panic, but she then steels herself.

A comic page from Dandelion: Chapter 17: "The courage to live". We cut back to the final clash between Dande and the old man from chapter 15. Dande's Dent-De-Lion reached its target first due to its greater reach, jamming one of its "fangs" right into the old man's eye. But his fist still followed through, delivering a thunderous gut punch into Dande while his eye was still getting burned.
A comic page from Dandelion. Seeing Dande in the state she is in has left Malin frozen, until her eyes and hairs, even eye lashes, start to literally spiral. The old man is still laying on his back, but awake, looking up, with a somber, serious look, with his one remaining eye. The other one has been completely burned off, leaving the full hole in his skull visible, with the skin around it seared. Looming over him, is Siru, shaded black, eyes filled with rage and locked into the old man.

The truth of the scene Malin has arrived at, is Dande standing, eyes open, but seemingly lifeless, as checking her pulse has left Emilia staring at her in shock. The left side of her stomach is covered by a large burn, her face is covered in blood, her mouth is slightly open and her lips dry, and her eyes, while open, aren't focused on anything.

Emilia is standing right next to her, repeatedly calling her name, but Malin doesn't notice this and simply looks relieved, thinking: "...Yeah... To me...it all still feels... *continued in the next page*" but her smile fades as she sees Emilia check Dande's pulse from her wrist.

A comic page from Dandelion. Malin and Kotoha are back near the cottage where Dande and the old man were fighting. Malin rests Kotoha under a tree, thinking. "Quiet... Is it...over? No clouds... Good...!" As she turns her back to Kotoha, she says: "I understand. I never thought I'd find that world either. But I wanted to believe...that I wasn't the only one. And I was afraid that even they would pass me by...if I wasn't at least smiling." Malin starts to run towards the battle field.

I'm nearing thirty you know, my family has already deemed me past marriage material. Though, even growing up, everything lovey-dovey was alien behaviour in my eyes. With or without glasses. *the panel shows a younger Kotoha with long hair, standing on a small planet earth (where Finland appears larger than in reality and is missing a portion of its lower half on the left), and a couple embracing each other on another planet* At this point I could even sail the seven seas...without taking a single step in that world. 'Smile at life'... Good for you, but I don't need that shit. Worry for your own. Make the most of what you've found, while you can. Because in the end...everyone dies...alone..." Kotoha falls back asleep as she speaks the last sentence. Malin is silent, as the last panel zooms into her eye.

A comic page from Dandelion. Malin seems to have calmed down, and gets up. "...Of course not. Thank you." She's able to run through the forest with Kotoha on her back, but is still struggling. Kotoha tries to sleep, but then Malin says: "Co...Could you...keep talking something for a bit...?" Kotoha, thinking, annoyed: "Seriously...?"

She charges ki into her left land and strikes Malin in the back. "FUCK YOUR MOTHER, THINK OF YOUR GIRL!!! FORGOT ABOUT 'DANDE' ALREADY?!"
