Beef Season 2 is so good
Fig 1: The cover of David Lynch's large-format (i.e. coffee table sized) book Someone is in My House, collecting photos of his work from across different media. The cover shows a crimson plume of energy or liquid erupting against a black background dotted with white specks that could be stars or maybe sparks. The book is propped up against a white, subway-tiled backsplash in a kitchen. The only lighting source is a flashlight that casts harsh shadows.
Fig 2: A photo of The Art of Twin Peaks, a special issue of the independently published David Lynch fanzine Blue Rose. The issue's cover depicts Laura Palmer in her prom dress and tiara against a vibrant blue background, screaming, while the words and letters from the publication's title "The Art of Twin Peaks" frame her, and in some cases obscure her. Her right eye, for instance, looks gouged out, but it's actually a visual trick caused by a bit of one black letter falling perfectly across her eye socket. The magazine is mounted on the wall, by means unclear. The lighting is produced by a single flashlight, which casts harsh, almost Gothic shadows on the wall, the same white, subway-tiled backsplash seen in Fig. 1.
Fig. 3: A two-page spread from The Art of Twin Peaks. It shows five stylistically different fan-produced artworks, all inspired by the Twin Peaks character Audrey Horne. This display, too, is lit with a flashlight.
Fig. 4: Closeup of a page of The Art of Twin Peaks: an interview with actor Michael Horse, who played Deputy Tommy "Hawk" Hill of the Twin Peaks police department. In the upper left hand corner of the image is the Great Northern key chain mentioned in the original post. It's (faux) gold, with a circular finger loop and an identifying hotel room tag (Room 315) that has the approximate shape of a diamond, taller than it is narrow, with rounded edges.
In honor of Dale Cooper's upcoming b-day (April 19), @mzspress.bsky.social is having a David Lynch sale. With ANY purchase from the Lynch section, you get The Art of Twin Peaks. For $100+ we throw in a Great Northern key chain (see Fig. 4). Limit 1 per customer. Inventory:

we've invented a new way to watch movies... we're calling it "properly"
unfortunately not enough of us are pissed off or pissed off enough to do something about it. and i don't think it's a coincidence that numbness/indifference has become a popular aesthetic trend. being pissed off historically looks so much cooler and is more helpful
each Gal Gadot movie more cursed than the last
has the tech industry tried KYaaS (kill yourself as a service)?
“Everybody’s using AI for everything nowadays, and if you don’t, you’re a misfit outsider who should be stoned to death in the town square, and then resurrected virtually from your data so you can be stoned to death in the virtual town square, for infinity.” www.nytimes.com/2026/04/15/o...
and thank you for saying it
i need to see the conservative slop Hershey's biopic starring Finn Wittrock, on loan from the Ryan Murphy Collection, and Richard Kind (???)
unfortunately the more i hear it’s awful the more i want to watch it
should i watch the Jonah Hill movie or do i care about myself
that's the good shit. @davidehrlich.bsky.social on the hell that is visiting an alamo drafthouse in 2026:
in this week's newsletter: the problem with Over Your Dead Body, some quick thoughts on Mother Mary, plus more stuff i'm watching/reading right now
wrote about The Drama, a movie about an extremely normal woman who realizes her friends and fiancé are assholes, and which asks if you'd still love your partner if they revealed the most mentally ill version of themselves
went to a screening at Alamo, whole lot of boos when the QR menu message played before the movie. i also love that it’s now impossible to flag a server when 3 men next to you won’t shut the fuck up (during a movie in which there are zero men!)
Mother Mary fucking rules
correct!
