The idea is that when you leave the tree attached it should still bud and leaf out and have fresh greens for the deer. Its supposed to give some shelter for the deer as well in the winter, not sure how much that will actually work

we also did some hinge cutting on the saplings for the deer that are too close the house. Need to do some more research. I tried about 50% through before pushing over but some of them just completely broke off. I'm seeing 2/3rds through the sapling but I thought that may be too much
