Agree. This is my thought as well. Football-wise, results-wise, it seems quite unreasonable to stop another rebuild ("process") so early (in 2nd year & with a trophy), but if it is due to power struggle from the top, then it makes more sense. It is still absolutely unacceptable from the club though.

It is just delusional to think we will be 17th if we don't need to fight for cups or not in an almost unprecedented injury crisis.
There is a reason why there is full support from players even when league form is poor. We, as a whole, want to fight for the elusive 1st Euro trophy since 41 years ago
If anyone deserves the sack, it is Levy. Our quest for Europa is the ultimate definition of "to dare is to do". It is a lot of risks but we get the results.
A major European trophy & CL qual.
And now you measure our successes based on league form which we have obviously forsaken?
Ridiculous.
But if it is Mason intentionally creating a burner account impersonating InvertTheWing, he will not be giving out his real birthdays.......
Who wrote this? This is just outright the exact opposite of what Maddison or many other key players say recently......
Davies keep, but only in PL squad.
Danso and Dragusin as backup CB.
Vuskovic, depends on his progress, may play in U21 and act as the 5th CB challenging the 3rd and 4th CB places.
I support Richy from the very 1st, even when Conte disliked him, or injuries last season. Always point out these per90 stat to say how good he is.
Yet, he is a bit too injury prone for squad building. If a less demanding league/team go for him, I will happily let him go (with a big gratitude).
I don't really want him saying anything about us anymore actually. It is basically none of his businesses now.
Full support from players, huge support from match going fans, it will be a PR nightmare if Levy pull the trigger...
Absolutely spot on from Ange here. Football is a result business.
Give us trophy and the ticket to CL, and who care about the meaningless position in the league.
IMO, punishing "to dare is to do" and the incredibly good final results are just encouraging mediocre "safety first" approaches in future, which is not going to help us get to any trophies.
The injury crisis and Europa run definitely took a huge toll on league results.
The players are fully behind Ange, Ange has at least earned the right for another 0.5 year here. If it is relegation form, then let's sack him but we need to reward his "to dare is to do" attitude in the cup run. (5/?)
The saying that 10th + europa is better but irrelevant here. Just rank the scenarios and if 17th + Europa cup win is a better outcome than another virtually scenario which will render the coach "unsackable" (e.g., 2nd in the league), then it is odd to sack the coach.
(4/?)
Let's look at it the other way too. Say, how do we rank
1) 2nd + no cup win
2) 17th + Europa cup win?
If 2) is a more favourable outcome and we will definitely bot sack the coach in 1), why will we sack the coach when the situation is more favourable?
(3/?)
Say, we are 8th and in a deep cup run, if I am the next coach (I need to keep my job), the only reasonable approach is to go out of cups to give me maximum chances of doing better in the league. If the best scenario Euro trophy win and CL qual won't give me time, nothing else in the cup will. (2/?)
Puzzled on why sacking Ange is an option. I can understand fans' anger and some may value a better league position more than trophy (which I respect, but won't agree) and want the sack. But for Levy, sacking Ange now is sending the msg to all future coaches that you should sacrifice the cup. (1/?)
There are too many games we were tactically sound and probably had more chances and a upper hand in the game but ultimately lost/drew due to uncharacteristically poor individual errors. (Can accept an error leading to conceding a goal when playing from the back or taking risks, but these are not)
Even vs Chelsea, while not counting as a mistake leading to goal in stat, when we have enough bodies in the box, IMO, the lack of focus from our two centrebacks and leftback to leave Enzo completely unmarked is an individual mistakes too. It happens a bit too often IMO.
I can agree with that in general for less prominent mistakes and esp when we are taking risks.
But I don't really see how it can absorb of the blame on Romero or Bergvall when these are relatively easy ball that there should be minimal risks and returns. (Cont d)
It makes sense doesn't mean I have proof (and indeed, I doubt whether this hypothesis or its counter hypothesis is "provable"). But the multiple repeats of costly individual mistakes in recent games are pretty unusual, and there can be hypothesis on where the main (or multiple of) sources are.
While I am mostly sympathetic of Ange's situation and there can be elements of confirmation bias here, I do think it makes sense to question if there is a mentality "blackhole" here when we are like conceding costly individual mistakes every game.....
When you gift your opponent 4 goals in a single game, there is no way you can win.
Can understand conceding goals due to failure in playing out from the back or a counterattack (which is a tactical choice), but the lack of focus like Romero and Bergvall (or even Vic and Spence) are unacceptable.
Agree. I think Dom is excellent in everything else, but his finishing do need to improve....
Players of Bale and Kane (and ironically, he missed so many clear cut chances for Bayern in last CL match) calibre are hard to come. But I do think we created enough to win comfortably. (And Son is an excellent finisher as well on his day)
How many chances or almost-chances that we need to create to score the 2nd goal.
Do we really need fengshui or something to analyse how unlucky we are this season? All the injuries, all the missed chances, etc.....
9. I guess I am a true outlier. IMO, full support from players and the underlying data make me want to believe in Ange for 0.5 season more with the hope that players are healthy in general to see how it goes.
On the balance of things, I don't think we play that poorly. We may not have played peak Angeball but buildup from the back was fine and we did limit Chelsea to a mere xg of just over 1 at their home ground. The difference is just the final ball IMO.
He is playing more like a right sided Inzaghi/Trezeguet rather than what we are used to see right wingers (e.g., Lennon).
Naturally when he scores goals, he is good and when he doesn't, he is not...
He played 90mins for us too. We just tried to protect him from playing 180 minutes within 2 and a half days. (It is not whether he can play 90 mins, it is whether he can play two 90 mins in 2.5 days)
Having said so, I will rather Romero play 30 mins for the national team instead......
