In an extremely crowded field, this Queensland law is the worst human rights violation yet perpetrated by an Australian government in pursuit of Israel's state interests.

Then went to a stellar afternoon session on censorship and consequences featuring @antoinettelattouf.bsky.social @joshbornstein.bsky.social and AC Grayling hosted by Peter Greste. Actually walked out feeling hopeful, but jeez folks, we need to arc up more! #NWF2026

Laurel Hubbard: Who is the transgender weightlifter making history at Tokyo 2020?

The banning of trans women from the Olympics is one of the most disgusting examples of bigotry I can recall.

There was literally ONE trans woman to compete at the Olympics. She failed to record a lift.

5 years ago the Olympics website lauded her.

Now the IOC regards her as an unperson.

Iconic pic of Nicole Kidman leaving her lawyers office after finalising her divorce from Tom Cruise. She looks eurphoric, hands in a victory post, mouth wide, maybe saying 'hell yeah' (dunno, I would). She is wearing a cute sheer top with a bra underneath.

Sussan Lee is gazing skyward, smiling, perhaps a little wistfully. As the first woman elected Liberal leader, she's now been replaced. By another middle aged white man. Perhaps this is why the white suit? Or is she channeling White Lady Funerals, having left her jaunty burgundy hat back in the old office. Behind her the doors to parliament are ajar, but swinging closed. Give that photographer a raise.

Iconic. Canon. (give that photographer a raise) I could write essays on this shot (kinda did in the alt text)

I've tried to work out why BlueSky hasn't quite had the same trajectory as Twitter - when it shares many commonalities. And this convo with @brendan.hyperweb.au nailed it - there's no vernacular. We had tweeps, tweeting, retweeting and tweet-ups - what do we have here? Blues? Blueing? Re-blue? Que?

Were you a #NewyTweep? Part of the OG #NewyTwitter? We're having a very #NewyTwistmas this year, on November 30, from 2pm at Carrington Bowling Club. Come? We're gonna party like it's 2011 - or thereabouts.

How lucky are we to live in a country with so many cancer screening options. And this one's free!

I'm so proud to work with people who really want to make a difference. This project is so exciting, and has the potential to be a game changer for people with brain cancer. And it's thanks to beanies (and the communities who buy them)
